About the job

Two employees for the Early Detection Team – one for the school area and one for the early childhood area

Do you want to help make a difference for children, adolescents and families before early difficulties grow larger?

We are seeking two dedicated employees for the Early Detection Team in Lejre Municipality – one focusing on the school area and one focusing on the early childhood area.

We are looking for you who are passionate about preventive work, early intervention and direct contact with children, adolescents and families. You can build trusting relationships, meet families where they are and support positive changes in their everyday life.

About the Early Detection Team

The Early Detection Team is part of the Family House in Lejre Municipality and works preventively with children, adolescents and families where there are signs of early distress or concern for the child’s or the adolescent’s well-being and development.

Our task is to intervene early and offer a flexible and manageable approach before the difficulties grow or there is a need for a more extensive intervention in Family Counseling.

Our core task is the children, the adolescents and the families. We offer, among other things, individual courses, parental guidance, group programs and lectures with a focus on well-being, development, relationships and parenting.

We collaborate with schools and early childhood services when it supports the intervention around a specific child, adolescent or family. The general professional sparring with staff on pedagogical practice and learning environments is mainly handled by PPR. The Early Detection Team should therefore not function as a parallel PPR function, but contribute to children and families receiving the right support at the right time.

One position in the school area

As a staff member in the school area, you will help prevent and manage early distress among children and adolescents. You work directly with the child or adolescent and the family based on their concrete needs and everyday life.

Your tasks may include, among others, to

  • Carry out individual programs with children and adolescents focusing on well-being, relationships, emotional regulation, school attendance and participation in community life.
  • Offer parental guidance and shorter programs focusing on parenting and the child’s or adolescent’s well-being.
  • Plan and conduct group programs for children, adolescents and parents.
  • Give lectures on well-being, development, relationships and parenting.
  • Engage in dialogue with school staff about concrete concerns and relevant actions, including whether a child or family could benefit from a program in the Early Detection Team.
  • Collaborate with relevant people in the child’s or adolescent’s network and with other professionals when it supports the intervention.

One position in the early childhood area

As a staff member in the early childhood area, you will help strengthen the early, preventive intervention for small children and their families. You work with families where there is a need for support to understand and handle emerging challenges in the child’s well-being and development.

Your tasks may include, among others, to

  • Offer parental guidance, counseling and shorter programs focusing on parenting and the child’s well-being and development.
  • Work with themes such as interaction, emotional regulation, boundary setting and handling early difficulties in the family.
  • Plan and conduct group programs for parents.
  • Give lectures on child development, well-being and parenting.
  • Support collaboration between parents and early childhood services when relevant to the intervention around the child.
  • Engage in dialogue with the early childhood service about concrete concerns, relevant options and opportunities to offer the family an early intervention.
  • Collaborate with health services, PPR and other relevant professionals when it contributes to a coherent intervention around the child and family.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant professional background, e.g., as an educator, social worker, family therapist or another relevant social or pedagogical qualification.
  • Have experience with or interest in preventive work with children, adolescents and families.
  • Are strong in relational work and can create trust and collaboration with both children, adolescents and parents.
  • Can plan and carry out shorter, targeted programs based on the family’s needs and resources.
  • Work independently, flexibly and solution-oriented and can navigate different families and issues.
  • Have an eye for when early intervention is relevant and when other approaches are needed.
  • Thrive in multidisciplinary collaboration and can create coherence around the child, the adolescent and the family without losing focus on the team’s core task.

It is advantageous if you have experience with group programs, parental guidance and work with children and families in early distress. Additionally, it is advantageous if you have a driver’s license and your own car.

What do we offer?

You will become part of the Family House in Lejre Municipality, where you will work with committed colleagues from different professional backgrounds and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the early, preventive intervention.

We offer

  • A meaningful task where you can make a difference early in a child’s or a family’s life.
  • Opportunity to shape and develop the Early Detection Team’s work in your area.
  • A varied daily routine with individual programs, groups, lectures and multidisciplinary collaboration.
