Pedagogical staff sought for Børnehusene Stjernen, Hus Syd.

Would you like to help ensure children/young people with special needs the best development conditions and a safe childhood? The position is 37 hours/week, but other arrangements can be agreed.

You will be working with several children/young people in the house. The majority of the work is 1:1, which provides a good opportunity for calm and focus around the individual.

We are looking for colleagues who can create calm around them, be clear in their communication, have an overview, and who can be excited about everyday moments of excellence.

Børnehusene Stjernen is one of Region of Southern Denmark's residential facilities for children/young people up to 24 years old, with multiple functional impairments and thus special needs, pedagogical and health-related. We are located in the southern part of Odense, and are part of Handicapcenter Fyn, which besides Odense has houses in Nyborg and Kerteminde.

Hus Syd houses 7 lovely children/young people who need support for all basic functions, for play and experiences, and for development towards as much independence as possible. Most children/young people do not master spoken language but communicate with support from alternative communication forms. Some of the children have autism or autism-like behavior and need shielding and clear boundaries.

In addition, several children/young people may have problematic behavior and reduced impulse control.

The house has close cooperation with parents and other actors in the children’s/young people’s lives outside the house.

The pedagogical work is based on KRAP as well as systematic and structured approaches. The pedagogy in the house is oriented toward meeting the individual physical and social needs of the children/young people, thereby ensuring the individual’s well-being and development. In addition to the pedagogical work there are health-related tasks, in the form of medication management, care tasks, and documentation tasks.

The pedagogical, practical and administrative tasks are delegated in teams around the individual.

• You are educated or have experience working as a pedagogue, PAU, or similar.
• You, as a person, are open and welcoming to all collaboration partners.
• You can remain calm and are mentally balanced.
• You can work structured and from an appreciative approach, and are professionally curious.
• You can work with children/young people who may have challenging behavior.
• You are both a team player and can work independently.
• You are good at articulating yourself in speech and in writing and understand that documentation is an important part of the work.
• You have a valid driving license – category B.

The practical

The working hours are planned between 06:00 and 22:00, with every other weekend. As a rule, you should expect about 50% evening work. We have a local agreement on reduced rest.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

The Region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told the base salary, centrally fixed allowances, and pension in the collective agreement - educators , pedagogical assistant . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience, and qualifications.
