Educator for Nørresø House

We are seeking one or more dedicated educators for the children and youth home Nørresø House, which is part of Døgn og Aflastning under Viborg Municipality. As an educator you will be responsible for ensuring the children's well-being and development through close collaboration with colleagues and parents. Our approach is based on mentalization, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of the KRAP method.

Nørresø House's target group are children aged 10-18 years. They may for a time need to live somewhere other than home, and no two children are the same, and the same applies to the reason they temporarily stay at Nørresø House.

Primary duties

• Ensure the children's well-being and development through targeted efforts
• Engage in close collaboration with colleagues, children and parents
• Work in a structured manner with the children's individual development goals
• Apply a mentalizing approach in daily work
• Contribute to documentation and participate in daily practice

Our pedagogical approach

At Døgn og Aflastning we base our practice on the children’s resources and competencies. We believe there is always an opportunity to create change that makes a difference for each child. Our work is based on a mentalizing approach. We work in the children’s homes, and we place great emphasis on settings and environments that feel homely and safe.

Qualifications

• Relevant pedagogical education, preferably with experience in working with vulnerable children
• Development-oriented and able to plan and evaluate interventions based on the children's action plans
• Motivated to learn to document in internal systems such as sofus.dk and externally via ICS reports
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and non-verbally
• Willingness to join a multidisciplinary staff where the child’s perspective and needs are central
• Engaged in collaboration with both internal and external partners such as schools and authorities
• Ability to reflect on one's own approach and be flexible in task execution
• Respectful, empathetic and inclusive approach to other people
• Willing to work in both day and evening shifts on weekdays and up to every other weekend
