Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is a central acute and university hospital with activities in almost all clinical specialties and a number of highly specialized functions, including advanced interventional radiology. As a radiology department, we play a central role in patient pathways by delivering high-quality imaging diagnostics that support fast, precise, and value-creating clinical decisions.

The Department of Radiology and Scanning is organized across the Herlev and Gentofte campuses. For several years, we have been in an exciting development characterized by growth, technological renewal, and new ways of organizing diagnostics.

On the Gentofte campus, elective patient pathways are primarily handled, while the Herlev campus has a larger share of acute and highly specialized functions. We are an integrated part of the hospital’s acute patient pathways and work closely with the clinical departments to ensure fast and precise diagnostics.

You will become part of a professionally strong environment with access to some of the newest imaging diagnostic technology. We routinely work with spectral CT data and have installed Denmark's first photon-counting CT for clinical use. In addition, we have modern MR scanners on both campuses as well as advanced facilities in ultrasound, X-ray, and fluoroscopy.

We continuously develop our workflows with a focus on bringing diagnostics closer to the patient and the clinic. Based on the principle "Diagnostics at the Frontline" , we target innovation, workflow improvements, and new forms of collaboration that create value for patients and partners.

In terms of medicine, we work in cross-campus teams within

  • Thoracic and Oncoradiology
  • Gastro- and Uroradiology

  • Ultrasound

Research and professional development are a natural part of the department’s daily life. We have an active clinical research unit with a clinical research lecturer, post docs and PhD students, and we prioritize an environment where curiosity, learning, and development go hand in hand with clinical operations.

Through our participation in the Radiological AI Test Center (RAIT), we work on validation and implementation of artificial intelligence in clinical practice and help shape the radiology of the future.

You will have the opportunity to become part of an ambitious professional community where engagement, development, and collaboration are the driving forces behind better diagnostics and better patient pathways.

We have a strong focus on "the good workplace", professional quality and skills development, value-based leadership, as well as responsibility and dialogue. We start from the well-being of the staff, collaboration, development, communication, and empowerment.
