Two introductory surgeon positions in Plastic Surgery Plastic and Breast Surgery Department, Aalborg University Hospital Are you ready for an exciting year in the world of plastic surgery – with lots of learning, responsibility and good colleagues?
We have two available introductory surgical positions in plastic surgery with starts on February 1, 2027 and March 1, 2027 and one year ahead.
About the department
The Plastic Surgery Department at Aalborg University Hospital is Region North Denmark's only specialty department and functions as the regional department for all of Northern Jutland.
We handle a wide range of plastic surgical patients – from skin and melanoma cancer to reconstructive procedures, weight loss and gender-affirming surgery.
What you can expect
After a thorough introduction and close supervision you will quickly have independent tasks – both in outpatient clinics and in our ambulatory operating room.
You will also assist in larger fully anaesthetized operations, including
- surgery for skin cancer and melanoma
- skin reduction after weight loss
- top surgery for transgender people
- breast reconstructions
You will naturally also join the department's on-call team.
The department in numbers and team
We receive more than 5,000 new referrals annually, of which over half are cancer patients.
The team currently consists of six consultants, one department physician, three HU doctors, two I doctors and two unclassified doctors – and we have close collaboration with, among others, pathology, oncology, nuclear medicine and breast surgery.
The daily operations include two operating theatres in full anesthesia Monday–Wednesday, one operating theatre Thursday and Friday, two theatres for minor surgery in local anesthesia, as well as an outpost in Hobro twice a week. The outpatient function is also a central part of the work.
