About the job

Would you like to learn more about eating disorders and about child and adolescent psychiatry in general, and engage in daily contact with patients and their parents in a well-functioning outpatient clinic, with high professionalism and good collegiality ?

We are seeking a physician for a 1-year unclassified position in our outpatient clinic for children and adolescents with eating disorders at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center (BUC)

Special Outpatient Clinic for Eating Disorders B132

We provide treatment for children and adolescents with eating disorders aged 4-17 years residing in the Capital Region and on Bornholm. The outpatient clinic has a highly specialized function for children and adolescents with eating disorders. There is close collaboration between the outpatient clinic and day wards and inpatient wards for children and adolescents with eating disorders - colloquially called “Spisesøjlen”.

In all units the family is directly and actively involved in the treatment. There is a focus on developing and expanding medical cooperation across Spisesøjlen so that coherence is created in the patient pathways.

You will be attached to the outpatient clinic and report to the department head of the outpatient clinic. Depending on your previous experience and competencies you will receive thorough training.

In the outpatient clinic the daily work will predominantly consist of family therapy using the Family-Based Therapy (FBT) method, which is offered to all families starting in the outpatient clinic.

You will be trained in FBT, through on-the-job training. In addition you will be expected to perform somatic examinations and medication consultations.

The outpatient clinic has a strong focus on supervision both to improve our skills and to support each other in working with the families. Additionally, we have our own course activities where we regularly hold workshops with Danish and international experts in the field of eating disorders.

For somatic problems there is a well-established collaboration with the Social Paediatric Department at Herlev Hospital. There are also quarterly meetings to ensure good cooperation.

As a university hospital, we have an obligation to educate medical students. We also have a commitment to educate younger doctors to ensure medical professional development.

The outpatient clinic is physically located on the centre’s campus at Bispebjerg. The outpatient clinic is led jointly by the head of department and the chief nurse.

We offer

  • Possibility to work with assessment and treatment of eating disorders and related comorbidity at a highly specialized level.
  • Focus on professional development in the form of regular teaching and course activities and regular supervision.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with varied tasks.
  • Training in FBT (Family-Based Therapy) and the opportunity to become familiar with psychotherapeutic treatment for comorbid conditions (KAT, DAT, systemic narrative therapy).
  • Motivated – and fun – colleagues in a good collegial working environment, with close medical professional sparring and camaraderie.
  • Employment in a well-structured department that prioritizes professional development and research.

We expect

  • That you have medical authorization and completed the internship (KBU)
  • That you are able to maintain an overview and stay focused
  • That you have good communication skills
  • That you can work independently
  • Preferably pediatric and adolescent psychiatric experience or other relevant work with children and parents or psychiatry.
  • That you are a physician who is engaged and wishes to make a difference for the young people and their families.
  • That you enjoy having varying tasks and collaborating across professional groups in the outpatient clinic.

Salary and employment terms

The position is fixed-term for 1 year, and 37 hours per week, starting 1 February 2027 or as agreed.

You will be employed under the Agreement for Junior Doctors - 33.06.1

The outpatient clinic is open Monday to Friday during daytime hours. Your working hours will therefore primarily fall within this time frame.

In accordance with legal requirements, if employed at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center, a clean criminal record for working with children must be presented. The center will obtain the certificate from the National Police with the consent of applicants recommended for employment.

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting the head of department, Senior Consultant Ulla Moslet, at [email protected] or 38 64 10 75 or 24483147.
