About the job

Do you want to use your physiotherapeutic expertise where even small progress can make a big difference? And are you motivated by thinking about training, treatment, play and everyday life together for children and young people with complex functional impairments?

Then you now have the opportunity to make your professionalism a part of the children's everyday life. We have an exciting 32-hour position for you in Child Disability in Aabenraa Municipality.

About the workplace

In Child Disability we work every day to create good, safe and developing everyday lives for children and young people with various and often complex functional impairments. With us you will not only be the physiotherapist who just comes by to train. You will become an important part of the children's everyday life and of the interdisciplinary collaboration around their development, well-being and quality of life.

You will be part of our health care team, which consists of two physiotherapists and three social and health care assistants. We work closely with pedagogues, management, parents and other professionals around the individual child.

We have a high degree of interdisciplinarity and place emphasis on actively bringing our different professionalities into play. As a physiotherapist you therefore have both the opportunity to work independently with your own area of expertise and to contribute to qualifying the overall effort around the child.

Child Disability consists among other things of

The Posekær Children and Youth Home, which is a 24/7 facility with 26 places for children and young people. We are spread across four different groups and have very different needs for support, care, treatment and pedagogical efforts.

Lille Kolstrup – The Special Kindergarten, which is a special kindergarten for children aged 0–6 years. The Special Kindergarten is a service for children aged 0–6 years. The kindergarten has 3 groups.

Our children in Child Disability are children with significant and lasting physical and/or psychological functional impairments. The children have different and often complex needs that call for a close interdisciplinary effort around their development, well-being and participation in everyday life.

The child group spans a wide range. Some children have extensive motor challenges and require assistive devices, positioning, training and support in all daily activities, while others more often have challenges in areas such as sensory processing, communication, contact, attention and regulation.

The common factor is that the children need a special pedagogical, health care and therapeutic effort, based on each child’s resources and possibilities. Here physiotherapy becomes a natural part of the child’s everyday life – through play, movement, training and participation in the small and large activities that fill a child’s life.

You will therefore have a workday with great variety and the opportunity to work physiotherapeutically with children and young people at different age levels and with very different needs.

About the job

As a physiotherapist with us you work with training and treatment close to the child’s everyday life. This means that the physiotherapeutic effort does not stand alone. You should together with the child’s other adults be curious about how movement, positioning, assistive devices and training can be integrated naturally into everyday life and support the child’s participation, development and quality of life. Some days require creativity and play. Others require thorough professional assessments, guidance, documentation and close coordination with colleagues and parents.

Common for the tasks is that the child and its possibilities are the focal point.
