Physiotherapist in task rotation in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery, orthopedic surgical specialty, Physiotherapy and Ergotherapy Department, Aalborg University Hospital, Farsø

At the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department, Farsø Hospital, Aalborg University Hospital, there is a permanent 37-hour position as a physiotherapist in task rotation within the field of shoulder and elbow surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery Speciality, available for filling as of January 1, 2027.

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department, Farsø Hospital, consists of Orthopaedic Surgery Team OE, Orthopaedic Surgery Team UE, Spine Team and Palliative Team.

We are 15 physiotherapists, 4 occupational therapists, 1 social- and healthcare assistant and a chief senior therapist. Our clinical instructor also conducts clinical teaching for physiotherapy students.

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department is organized in co-governing teams.

The advertised position is linked to the field of shoulder and elbow surgery and will have a role in the Orthopaedic Surgery Ambulatory, in the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department and in Ward O4, Farsø.

The team consists of 3 shoulder physiotherapists, who handle task rotation as well as other diagnostic and treatment duties for patients with shoulder and elbow problems in the orthopaedic surgical setting. There is close multidisciplinary collaboration with the responsible senior physician as well as other doctors, occupational and physiotherapists, and nurses at Aalborg University Hospital, Farsø.

Your primary tasks

• Preliminary examinations in the Shoulder Ambulatory Clinic
• Follow-up examinations after pre-examination/treatment/operation by a doctor in the Shoulder Ambulatory Clinic
• Instruction in exercises for newly operated patients in same-day surgery
• Instruction to patients referred after pre-examination by the shoulder doctor
• Include patients in relevant databases
• Assessment of need for rehabilitation
• Participate in late shifts and Saturday shifts

Your profile

• Licensed physiotherapist/professional bachelor with Danish authorisation
• Minimum 4 years of experience with treatment and preferably examination of orthopaedic surgical patients within the shoulder and elbow specialty
• Experience in using ultrasound scanning within the musculoskeletal field – specifically the shoulder
• Preferably a relevant health science master’s or candidate degree within the musculoskeletal field with focus on examination, diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic surgical patients
• Possesses a broad professional foundation
