About the job

Physiotherapist sought for a permanent position in the Medical-Surgical/Geriatric specialty at Bispebjerg Hospital

Are you a solution-oriented and responsible team player? Do you want to put your professional skills to work in an environment where no day is the same, and where collaboration is the key to quality? Then you may be the physiotherapist we look forward to welcoming into our team.

The position is 37 hours per week.

Who are we?

The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy department at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital is an interdisciplinary department with its own research unit. We prioritise quality, development and well-being, and collectively take responsibility for maintaining a strong professional standard with a curious and critical approach to our efforts.

We are about 130 physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are passionate about making a difference for our patients. Together we cover a wide range of specialties, which provides rich opportunities for knowledge sharing, sparring and development in dynamic collaboration across professional boundaries.

We have an informal tone, a strong collegiate community and a positive approach to tasks. We help each other, spar closely, and foster a safe and constructive working environment. We focus on a culture where we help each other across teams – so if you thrive in an environment where we pull together, you will feel at home with us.

The job as a physiotherapist in the medical-surgical/geriatric area

You will become part of the Medical-Surgical/Geriatric area, which consists of 16 physiotherapists, 6 occupational therapists and a research/development therapist.

Your primary base will be the Medical-Surgical team, but you will also be trained in the geriatric specialty, as we help each other across teams as needed. In the Medical-Surgical team there are 4 physiotherapists who cover three abdominal and intestinal surgery wards, the dermatology department, and the Wound Healing Knowledge Center, where your main tasks will be:

  • Acute functional assessments of patients with medical-surgical issues
  • Treatment of patients, including goal setting, planning and recommending further rehabilitation needs and discharge destination
  • Close collaboration with patients, relatives and interprofessional colleagues

We imagine that you

  • Are a trained physiotherapist – preferably with experience from hospital settings and/or with medical-surgical patients
  • Thrive in a changing work environment and can maintain overview even when pace is high
  • Work independently and have a curious approach to new challenges
  • Want to work with seriously ill patients and their relatives in short, intensive courses
  • Are welcoming and seek interprofessional collaboration as a natural part of a good patient journey
  • Are interested in planning interventions based on evidence-based practice, and want to engage in professional development

We offer

  • Thorough introduction to both professional tasks and the workplace
  • Experienced and engaged colleagues in an environment where dynamic sparring and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life
  • A daily life with exciting, varied and challenging tasks
  • A visible, trustworthy and accessible management that prioritises professional development, collaboration and well-being
  • A collegial group with high professional standards, strong social community and contagious engagement

Employment terms

The position is a permanent appointment of 37 hours per week with start date 1 January 2027 .

You must be prepared for flexible working hours between 08:00 and 16:30 on weekdays, primarily 08:00–15:30.

You will participate in weekend on-call roughly every 8th weekend together with two other physiotherapists. Local supplements have been negotiated for this on-call arrangement.

Salary and terms follow the applicable agreement for non-leading staff for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and midwives.
