About the job

Do you want to bring experiences and perspectives from people and local communities into the public debate and the dialogue with decision-makers – and be part of creating hope and the power to act?

Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke is seeking a political communications advisor who can bridge our program work on democracy, climate, peace and equality with the dialogue with decision-makers and the public debate.

You will be part of the Communications and Engagement Team and work closely with our program teams so that their professional knowledge and experiences are translated into communication that creates relevance, understanding and action.

Who are we?

Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke is part of ActionAid. Together with people, local communities and movements we work for democracy, climate, peace and equality – and so that more people can organize themselves, create change and have influence on the decisions that shape their lives.

About the job

You will become a central sparring partner for program teams and communications colleagues and you will translate complex issues into political advocacy and clear communication. You contribute to the dialogue with decision-makers and develop messages and stories across audiences and channels – with a focus on solutions and opportunities for action.

Your tasks

You will, among other things

  • Prepare messages, briefings, talking points, op-eds, commentaries and other communication products.
  • Support colleagues in the program department with political advocacy focused on creating positive change for peace, climate, democracy and equality.
  • Plan communication about political meetings, analyses, reports, events and key agendas based on lessons from our program work.
  • Contribute to press work and media contact and advise on messages, target groups, angles and channels.
  • Ensure coherence between the program team's professional work and the organization's communications.
  • Support the dialogue between program colleagues and politicians, civil service, authorities and other decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities to bring MS's perspectives into the public debate and develop work with communication and advocacy.

Who are you?

You are a strong communicator with an understanding of political processes, public debate and advocacy. You can translate complex issues into clear content for different audiences, channels and formats.

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant higher education and experience with communicating political or societal agendas.
  • Have experience with advocacy and dialogue with decision-makers.
  • Are a strong writer and advisor who can translate analyses and professional knowledge into engaging communication.
  • Have experience with press work and understand the interplay between political processes, public debate and communication.
  • Thrive with many collaboration interfaces and different professional backgrounds.
  • Can translate complex experience and analyses from program work into clear messages.
  • Speak Danish and English at a high level, both oral and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience from civil society or another organization working at the intersection of society, politics and engagement.

We offer

At MS you will have a central role in translating knowledge and experiences into dialogue, debate and communication that creates hope and the power to act. You will become part of an organization that works for democracy, climate, peace and equality in Denmark and globally – and of a work community with high professionalism, strong engagement and room for development.
