About the job

Do you want to help set the course of DM’s labor market policy and influence the decisions that shape the conditions for academics in both the public and private sectors? Do you have political understanding, relationship insight and experience with the social partners? Then you may be our new political advisor.

As a political advisor, you will be a central part of DM’s work with labor market and employment policy. Your focus will be the framework that matters to academics’ working life, professional scope, and conditions in both the public and the private sector. You will contribute to developing DM’s policy, translate professional knowledge into concrete political proposals, and strengthen our advocacy with decision-makers, authorities and the organizations in the labor market.

You will become part of the Policy, Organization and Social Analysis team (POS) and will work closely with colleagues in the team, DM’s political leadership and the rest of the secretariat. You will have a broad contact surface and must be able to move confidently between political strategy, thorough case processing, collaboration with external actors and clear communication.

Your tasks

  • Develop DM’s policy in the labor market and employment area with a focus on both the public and the private sector
  • Represent DM’s interests towards politicians, ministries, authorities, employer organizations, professional organizations and other partners
  • Prepare political proposals, consultation responses, memoranda, analyses and decision bases
  • Advise and prepare DM’s political leadership for meetings and support politically elected boards and committees
  • Build and maintain relations and networks across the labor market parties and other relevant organizations
  • Contribute with professional and political input to press work, campaigns, social media and other communications
  • Join cross-cutting projects and solve general political tasks together with the rest of the secretariat

About you

We envisage that you have a relevant academic education and experience with political advocacy, policy development or advisory work. You could, for example, have worked in an organization among the labor market partners, in a trade union, a ministry, an agency or another political organization.

It is an advantage if you have experience from an interest organization, but it is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you understand the Danish labor market model and can translate professional knowledge and organizational considerations into political results.

We also place emphasis on the following

  • Have solid insight into labor market and employment policy and preferably knowledge of both the public and the private sector
  • Have political acumen and can identify opportunities to move a political agenda
  • Can collaborate and build trust across disciplines, organizations and political interests
  • Can build strong relationships and preferably have a relevant network among politicians, civil service and labor market organizations
  • Write clearly and precisely and can adapt your communication to political presentations, press and social media
  • Can work independently, prioritize tasks and at the same time contribute actively to shared solutions
  • Thrives in a member-based and politically driven organization

We offer

At DM you get an exciting position close to political decisions with the opportunity to influence central agendas for academics. You will become part of the Policy, Organization and Social Analysis team (POS), which works with political advocacy, organizational development, analysis and servicing of DM’s political bodies. We offer good professional and personal development opportunities, varied tasks and an informal work environment with committed colleagues, room to think big and room for laughter.

The position is 37 hours per week. We offer good salary and employment terms according to an internal collective agreement.
