Power Platform consultant

Aarhus University has chosen Power Platform as a tool to support digitisation at all levels of the organisation. We are working to promote local development of solutions that can help improve processes, streamline case handling and raise the quality in the meeting with our employees and students. We have been working to spread the platform for several years. Now one of our central employees has decided to retire, and we are therefore looking for a new colleague who combines solid technical insight with an understanding of users' needs, and who can help to create a common direction for the use of the platform.

In the position you will have the daily responsibility together with colleagues to manage and further develop the platform and set the framework for how we use it across the organisation. In close dialogue with users, developers and other stakeholders you translate needs into priorities and advise on governance, architecture and solution choices. You thus take a central role in ensuring that the platform both allows room for new ideas and supports solutions that are secure, coherent and maintainable. With your technical insight you can also contribute to troubleshooting and 2nd level support.

Your tasks

• You will be involved in the daily administration of environments, access, connections, monitoring and capacity and create an overview of the platform's solutions and ownership.
• You must be able to define requirements for usable frameworks for among others data policies, roles, development and publishing of solutions and agents.
• You will advise on when the Power Platform is the right choice, and how solutions are built, integrated and can be maintained over time.
• You will be tasked with identifying needs, leading workshops, weighing different interests and ensuring that users' experiences influence the platform's priorities.
• You must help developers and business with making good choices and explaining technical frameworks so they can be used in practice.
• You should participate in the work of examining complex events in apps, flows, connections and rights and contribute to 2nd level support.

Your competencies

You combine technical insight with an understanding of users' needs and can translate both into solutions and common frameworks that work in practice. We place particular emphasis on that you:

• Have solid technical understanding of the Power Platform, especially Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, and experience with administration of environments, connections and rights.
• Can assess solution choices and integrations with regard to security, scalability and maintainability – and advise on when the platform is the right choice.
• Have an understanding of governance, data protection and access management and can contribute to frameworks that both support local development and ensure responsible use of the platform.
• Are curious about users' workflows and can facilitate dialogue, clarify needs and make technical and security considerations understandable for different target groups.
• Work methodically and in a structured way, both when investigating complex faults and when prioritising between wishes and creating an overview of dependencies.
• Can create collaboration and support for common decisions and standards across disciplines and organisational units.

You will become part of the User Experience team, but will also participate in a cross-organisational task community with colleagues who share the common goal of supporting the digital workplace by promoting Microsofts collaboration products in the organisation. Since AI currently affects all these products and merges them in new ways, you should expect that the position may change focus and character over the coming years. It is a clear advantage in the position to be interested in and have experience with working with AI.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment follow the applicable collective agreement (Academics in the State or Prosa) depending on your educational background.

If you are academically educated, salary and terms follow the collective agreement for Academics in the State ( see the agreement here ). You are employed as a senior administrator at base pay grade 4-8 with a deputation allowance. For the right candidate there will be the possibility of placement as senior consultant with pay according to the agreement’s Appendix 4.

If you are IT-educated, you are employed under the joint collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organisation for Teachers and CO10 – Central Organisation of 2010 (LC/CO10 joint collective agreement) ( see the joint collective agreement here ) and the organisational agreement for IT employees (PROSA) in the state service ( see the agreement here ). You will be placed in salary group 1-4 depending on education and qualifications.
