About the job

Do you want to lead the processes that gather Vordingborg Municipality's budget and budget follow-ups? And do you thrive in a role where you create an overview, ensure progress and make complex financial material usable for colleagues, management and politicians? Then you could become our new professional coordinator in Team Budget and Steering.

A central role in the municipality's financial management

As budget coordinator you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the municipality's central budget and budget follow-up processes. You must establish a clear framework for the processes, keep track of deliveries and deadlines, and ensure that the organization’s contributions are gathered into a solid basis for administrative and political decisions.

You will also become the professional coordinator for Team Budget and Steering. The role does not include personnel responsibility, but you will have a clear responsibility to coordinate the common tasks, support the professional quality and be a sparring partner for the team’s financial consultants. You will work closely with the department head and have a broad contact surface to the municipality’s centers, staff, management team and executive board.

Your main tasks will be to

  • plan and coordinate the annual budget process and ensure that timelines, deliveries and responsibilities are clear across the entire organization
  • design the municipality's budget follow-ups to the political level and follow up that the process is completed with the necessary quality
  • collect and quality assure central budget products, including budget notes, financial overviews and decision proposals
  • support financial consultants, managers and heads in preparing the department-specific budget and follow-up material
  • follow the overall development in the municipality's economy and contribute with cross-cutting analyses and financial perspectives
  • be a professional sparring partner for colleagues and contribute to coherence and knowledge sharing across the team
  • develop processes, materials and digital tools, so that the municipality's financial management becomes simpler, usable and forward-looking

You will also be required to participate in meetings with the management team and the executive board when budget and financial matters are on the agenda.

Throughout the year there will be periods with tight deadlines and many simultaneous deliveries and other periods with more time for analysis, development and deepening.

Who are you

Your educational background is not decisive. We are looking for someone who combines a solid understanding of municipal economics with strong skills in process management. You can create structure in complex processes, think several steps ahead and follow up when many contributions must end as one consolidated delivery. At the same time you can communicate financial issues clearly and precisely to recipients with different professional prerequisites.

We especially value that you

  • have experience with financial management in a municipality and understand the interplay between administration, management and political level
  • can plan and drive cross-cutting processes with many stakeholders and dependencies
  • work analytically, systematically and with a view to both the whole and the crucial details
  • communicate clearly and collaborate trustfully with both financially and non-financially oriented colleagues
  • take responsibility for progress and can remain calm in periods with high tempo and tight deadlines
  • are curious about how workflows, steering information and digital solutions can be improved.

We have a high professional level and an informal tone. You will have a great deal of freedom to plan your task solution, but we prioritize sparring and knowledge sharing so that tasks are solved collectively and no one is left alone with the complex deliveries.
