About the job

The Unit for Recycling and Partnerships in the Climate, Environment and Technical Administration (KTF) is seeking an open, independent and efficient employee to join Team Recycling Activities.

In Team Recycling Activities we work to raise awareness of the city's many recycling – and near-recycling stations to get Copenhagen residents to recycle even more. We do this, among other things, through larger weekend events, weekly workshops, volunteering, online communication, campaigns and partnerships.

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team and will play a central role in relation to activities and events as well as communication in the collaboration between internal colleagues and external partners in a politically steered organization.

As a project employee, your tasks will be distributed between communication and event duties. It is both a desk job and out in the city on practical tasks related to planning, coordination, execution and facilitation of events.

What we expect from you

The following is a selection of your primary tasks within each area, but it is not limited to this and will develop over time.

Events and activities

  • Co-developer and facilitator of event- and workshop formats that fit the physical settings at the city's recycling stations, including planning an annual calendar across the city’s recycling stations
  • Selection of assisting event organizers and external workshop hosts
  • Pre- and post-production of events, including travel, collection of recycling effects, coordination with recycling guides, purchasing, evaluation and similar
  • Dialogue with the recycling guides at the recycling and near-recycling stations

Communication

  • Create an overview and strong coherence on our communication channels that promote all events and workshops at the city's many recycling stations – including the Instagram profile @kbh.genbruger, the website kbh.genbruger.kk.dk, Facebook events via the Copenhagen Municipality profile, posters at recycling stations and the like
  • Plan, coordinate, provide sparring and develop communication efforts
  • Responsible for content development out at the recycling stations in collaboration with internal and external actors
  • Produce and edit material for both physical and online communication in Canva (video, posters, SoMe posts, etc.)
  • Operate, further develop and streamline workflows for communication across the Unit for Recycling and as the unit's internal representative in the organization
  • Co-develop the visual aesthetics for the recycling area with a thorough understanding of the municipal framework we are part of
  • Be responsible for a communications student assistant, including planning and delegating tasks, providing sparring and guiding the person in task execution

Competencies and qualities

  • Have a documented professionally relevant education
  • Minimum two years of documented experience from a similar position
  • Have experience with event development and execution as well as the associated communication, i.e., you have worn both hats simultaneously
  • Willingness to work in a politically steered organization, and a eye for when there is an opening for influence and to create the necessary momentum
  • Have strong social skills, as this is a job where you meet and interact with people from all segments of society
  • Be proactive and able to make decisions when necessary
  • Have an understanding of the broader strategic goal, the big picture and development in the recycling area
  • Thrive in a sometimes chaotic and dynamic work environment that takes place around the city, from Ørestad to Tingbjerg
  • Have a driver's license
  • Have experience with working in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams

About the department

As part of the Climate and Urban Development, you must be willing to engage in collaborations and projects that cross disciplines and professional fields. We believe that good solutions become stronger and more effective when we solve them collectively – coordinated and across disciplines, units and authority areas. We have the long view and have formulated a joint strategy that sets the direction for our work in the coming years.

Focused leadership is the management foundation in KTF. The core of the leadership foundation is three norms that define what good conduct is and thus what leadership is in KTF. It’s about, "We do it properly", "We do it together" and "We do it for Copenhagen". These three norms are the essence of the aim and define the direction for how we want to lead and work in KTF.

The Climate and Urban Development department is centrally located on Njalsgade at Islands Brygge. You will be employed in the Waste and Resources Area in the Unit for Recycling and Partnerships, which consists of three teams that work to make recycling a natural part of Copenhageners’ everyday life through a strengthened recycling culture, among other things via activities, partnerships and collaborations. Here you will report to the unit head.

Employment terms

This is a permanent full-time position of 37 hours per week. There will be weekend work up to 12 days distributed over the year.

Start is desired on 1 January 2027.

Salary is determined according to the applicable collective agreement.

Work takes place at different locations in the city, but with a fixed office at Njalsgade 13 in the Climate, Energy and Environment Administration at the Unit for Recycling and Partnerships.

Further information

If you have questions about the position, you can contact the unit head Stine Laurberg Hansen at 21 55 31 67 or team leader Simon Østergaard Hansen at 21 44 01 85 in Team Recycling Activities.
