About the job

Project assistant for expropriation projects and realisation of the Green Tripartite

Would you like to help create extensive changes in our landscape through the green transition and realisation of The Green Tripartite? Do you want to work with projects that both support the green transition and give citizens better opportunities to experience nature? And do you thrive in a professionally strong community where collaboration, sparring and good humor are a natural part of everyday life? Then we have the job for you!

In Assens Municipality we are at the forefront when it comes to expropriation projects, which are a large part of The Green Tripartite Agreement.

We already today have a sizable number of projects in the pre-studies and realisation phases.

This means that we now need one more experienced colleague who can help to get all the projects realised.

We have a tradition of good collaboration with local actors, and in 2024 we won KL's Climate Prize for our work with the Assens model.

About the position

The position is particularly targeted at work with wetland areas, low-lying projects and the green transition, but you can also take on a role in speeding up afforestation.

In the expropriation projects you will, together with experienced colleagues, help to get the projects through, including by supporting planning of projects, landowner meetings, preliminary studies etc.

With many projects and a busy everyday life you must be able to prioritise and be persistent in your task solving.

It is important that you are willing to go into the field, and that you can talk with landowners and other stakeholders, so that together we find the best project solutions for the benefit of both nature and environment, landowners and local communities.

To meet the goals of The Green Tripartite it is also essential for us that we complete the projects. You must therefore also be able to maintain a sharp focus on getting the projects completely to the finish.

We can offer you an independent and varied job, which you will have the opportunity to influence together with good colleagues in a professional and engaged environment.

You will largely have the freedom to structure your own tasks with the responsibility that they are solved.

We would like you to be skilled at communicating both in writing and speaking, and to be able to formulate agreements so that they are understandable and balanced with respect to landowners and the purposes of the projects.

You will become part of a professionally strong team, where we have a good tone, good humor and we prioritise well-being.

Who are you

We emphasise that you

  • have experience with planning and realisation of expropriation projects, nature and/or outdoor recreation projects
  • have technical knowledge and skills to produce preliminary studies and detail design, including nitrogen requirements, CO2 spreadsheets etc.
  • can prepare project and drainage maps via VASP and QGIS
  • are interested in and good at dialogue with landowners – at their homes, and also on their terms
  • are good at finding solutions to complex problems
  • are capable of navigating a politically led organisation
  • have a relevant educational background such as biologist, agronomist, forester and landscape architect or similar
  • are willing to contribute to the green transition, but also to the overall task solving in a department and a team where we help each other
  • contribute to a good working environment with good humor and engagement

Who are we

The Environment and Nature consists of about 40 employees distributed across five teams.

We are based at Assens Town Hall, which is housed in the former sugar factory.

The position is in Team Waters and the Green Tripartite, where we are 8 dedicated colleagues working with river restoration efforts, expropriation projects and case processing.

In the department we solve tasks related to industry, agriculture, waterways, nature, outdoor life, wastewater, waste, soil contamination, groundwater, etc.

We have a good community and a strong commitment to maintaining and developing Assens Municipality as a modern and attractive workplace. We help each other!

In the team and the department we have a free and humorous tone of voice, where everyone's opinions are heard.

We place great emphasis on it being pleasant to come to work. At the same time, flexibility and willingness to help each other are essential in a daily life often characterized by many tasks and busyness.

In 2024 we won KL's climate prize for the municipal expropriation effort based on the Assens model, which ensures broad involvement of landowners early in the process. We will continue to use and develop this model so that it can be applied more broadly in our organisation.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is permanent for 37 hours per week with start on 1 December 2026.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and based on the principles of local salary formation.

Please note that when employed you must be able to show a clean criminal record.
