About the job

Would you be among the first psychologists in Denmark to work with trauma-focused Dialectical Behavior Therapy (TF-DAT) in a highly specialized treatment offering for patients with complex PTSD and borderline personality disorder?

The Psychiatric Center Glostrup is seeking a committed and experienced psychologist for our outpatient department in the section for self-harm treatment (BAS).

About BAS – Section for Self-Harm Treatment

BAS is among the first psychiatric units in the Nordic countries to offer trauma-focused dialectical behavior therapy (TF-DAT) in an integrated inpatient and outpatient pathway. TF-DAT is an evidence-based treatment model developed by Professor Martin Bohus in Germany, which integrates principles from dialectical behavior therapy and trauma-focused treatment.

We treat patients with emotional unstable personality structure – borderline type – and/or comorbid PTSD, often with complex trauma histories, which have not had sufficient effect from previous treatment offerings. It sets high demands on professional specialization – but also provides an opportunity to work intensively and continuously with some of psychiatrys most complex patient journeys.

The inpatient treatment takes place in groups of up to eight patients and consists of an intensive multidisciplinary pathway with, among other things, individual therapy, group therapy and physical training. After inpatient treatment, patients typically continue in the BAS outpatient clinic, where you as a psychologist primarily work. The treatment consists of individual and group-based TF-DAT. The close interaction between inpatient and outpatient treatment provides the possibility of continuity and to follow patients' development from an intensive treatment environment to a more independent everyday life.

Your role and tasks

As a psychologist in the BAS outpatient clinic you will be part of a close multidisciplinary team with four psychologists, a doctor and a social worker. You will work daily in the outpatient clinic but will also be able to participate in therapeutic tasks in the inpatient unit. You will also become part of the overall psychological professional community with all seven psychologists in BAS and have the opportunity to collaborate closely across inpatient and outpatient treatment.

Your primary tasks will be

  • Implementation of manualized individual and group-based TF-DAT treatment
  • Assessment of complex psychiatric conditions
  • Participate in cross-team collaboration with colleagues in the inpatient and outpatient units to ensure continuity of patient pathways
  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment structures and methods
  • Opportunity to supervise and provide professional sparring internally in the team
  • Contribute to evaluation, documentation and research-related activities

We offer

  • A highly specialized treatment offering where TF-DAT is the core of treatment
  • Close teamwork where we help each other
  • A unique opportunity for professional depth and development within trauma treatment and self-harm
  • Opportunity to influence the planning of everyday life and work with patients to ensure a good working environment and high quality in the treatment
  • Highly qualified supervision by Professor Martin Bohus and psychotherapy specialist Casper Aaen
  • A close multidisciplinary environment with focus on professionalism, sparring and job satisfaction

About you

We are looking for you who

  • Are a psychologist with a practical training or close to it
  • Have a particular interest in DAT and trauma-focused therapy, preferably with experience in the area
  • Have experience from psychiatry and knowledge of the target group
  • Are professionally curious and thrive in an environment with development, quality assurance and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Are attracted by the possibility of helping shape a relatively newly started treatment offering
  • Have good collaboration skills, thrive in an interdisciplinary and team-based environment and enjoy sharing your knowledge
  • Have a positive approach to your work
