QC assistant – Incoming inspection

On behalf of Simatek A/S, Career | a JKS company is seeking a technically strong, structured and quick-to-learn QC assistant for incoming inspection in Jerslev.

About the job

The position is a central and operational QC function in the company’s value chain. In the role you will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming goods meet applicable technical requirements, documentation requirements and practicality before they are released to the next process. You will thus be a key person in ensuring that only correctly approved and documented goods are moved forward in the value chain. The QC function constitutes the first and decisive quality gate, and you have an actual stop mandate in case of deviations.

The role is practical and operational with a focus on quality assessment, documentation and professional judgment.

Simatek A/S has no in-house production, and quality is therefore primarily secured through a strong incoming inspection and close governance of deliveries from external suppliers.

The company receives a broad and varied range of goods, including fans, mechanical units and modules, filters and filter components, rubber and silicone components – including seals for food contact – subcomponents manufactured from technical drawings as well as welded and surface-treated steel items.

Your tasks

You will have a broad and practical area of responsibility with a focus on quality assurance of incoming goods and documentation.

Your main areas of responsibility will be to

• Ensure that deliveries match technical drawings and specifications
• Carry out visual quality assessment of mechanical components
• Assess welds (uniformity, visible defects, porosity, etc.)
• Distinguish between cosmetic issues and functional deviations
• Assess paint and coating in terms of coverage, evenness and suitability
• Check certificates and accompanying documentation (e.g. CoC)
• Ensure correct traceability and documentation quality
• Stop and block goods in case of doubt or deviations

You will receive thorough training in the company’s products and supplier setup as well as an introduction to QC principles, assessment criteria and applicable requirements. In addition, you will receive ongoing sparring regarding technical assessment and documentation, so you are well prepared to handle the role independently.

About you

You have a practical technical background from e.g. the metal industry, assembly, production or incoming inspection. We do not expect you to know all products and requirements from day one. The most important is your technical judgment, structure and ability to learn and translate new knowledge into practice.

In addition, you have

• Experience with visual quality assessment of mechanical components
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (GA, dimensions, tolerances)
• Understanding of assembly and welding specifications
• Experience with incoming inspection or similar quality work
• Comfort with stopping the flow in case of doubt or deviations
• Structure and a sense for documentation
• Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you have experience with welded and painted parts, surface and coating assessment, food-contact or experience from working in an outsourcing setup with external manufacturers, as well as knowledge of ERP or warehouse systems.
