About the job
Do you want to be part of a team focused on educational quality, where there is room for professional discussions and where we have a smile on our faces? Do you want to translate data into knowledge that can be used to develop education and support management's decisions?
Aarhus Maskinmesterskole seeks a maternity leave replacement with the possibility of extension to the Department for Quality, Development and Leadership Support (KUL).
We are in the process of rethinking and further developing the school's quality work and quality system. You will therefore have the opportunity to shape both the content of the position and our future work with quality assurance and quality development of the education – a task that calls for both educational, organisational and data understanding.
About the position
You will play a central role in our total quality work, where you must ensure coherence throughout the process from collection and quality assurance of data to analysis, reporting and follow-up. As a quality employee you should be able to see patterns and development trends, ask relevant questions of the data and translate the most important results into a clear and usable basis for management decisions and the development of the educations' quality.
The position also includes tasks close to the development and operation of education programs. You will among other things support the adjustment and revision of study programs and other educational documents and contribute to ensuring that the educations' content, examination forms and procedures comply with applicable law, regulations and other rules.
You will have a broad contact surface and solve tasks both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues in KUL and with educational leaders, teachers and other colleagues in administration. You will work with both fixed deliveries, recurring quality processes and development tasks, where the path to the good solution is not always given in advance.
Your tasks
Your primary tasks will include, among others
- plan, implement and follow up on evaluations, including teaching, examiner and internship evaluations, as well as provide support in connection with other surveys and contribute to developing methods and workflows in the area
- collect, compile and process quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external data sources and analyze key figures and development trends within e.g. admissions, dropout, completion, grades, student well-being and graduate employment
- communicate analysis results and contribute to turning data as a dialogue tool into relevant discussions, decisions and follow-up actions
- prepare fixed and ad hoc reports, notes, case submissions and presentations for management and other relevant forums
- support revision and quality assurance of study programs and other educational documents in collaboration with educational leaders, teachers and administrative colleagues
- contribute to interpreting and translating applicable rules into practice and thereby ensure that our educations and offerings meet the rules for professional bachelor's educations and maritime educations, including the STCW Convention
- contribute to the department's other tasks within quality, development and management support, including secretariat services and cross-departmental tasks across our educations and offerings
About you
We are looking for an analytical and structured colleague who wants to thoroughly understand the contents of the educations and applicable rules. You are motivated to bring your knowledge into play together with others and make analyses understandable and usable.
We imagine that you have a relevant education and preferably experience with analysis and quality work in the education sector. You are a confident user of Excel and SurveyXact and have preferably experience with Power BI or other tools for data processing and visualization.
In addition, we hope that you
- are collaborative and curious about perspectives from other professional domains
- have strong analytical skills and a good numeracy and data understanding
- can communicate complex results – both in writing, orally and visually – to different audiences
- work systematically, independently and persistently and follow up tasks and processes through to the end
- have an eye for the connection between rules, processes, documentation and practice
- thrive with both fixed operational tasks and development tasks and can prioritize when several tasks must be solved simultaneously
- thrive in a close and informal collaboration where we talk openly about things and give each other constructive feedback.
About the Department for Quality, Development and Leadership Support
You will become part of a department consisting of four employees who work across Aarhus Maskinmesterskole with quality assurance and quality development of the educations, organizational and educational development as well as support for institutional and educational leadership. In the department we solve tasks collectively, share knowledge and advise on both methods and solutions.
We offer
- a strong professional and social community with close sparring and collaboration
- a meaningful job close to the development of the educations and the organization
- independent responsibility and opportunity to influence the arrangement of your tasks
- a flexible workday with good colleagues in an open-plan office and the possibility of home working
Additionally you will have the opportunity to engage in the staff association, participate in Friday socializing, become a member of the fitness association or take the initiative for professional and social events yourself.
Salary and employment terms
The position is a fixed-term employment (maternity replacement) of an average of 37 hours per week with start as soon as possible and no later than 1 December 2026.
Employment is for a period of one year with the possibility of extension.
Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant trade union.
You will be employed at Aarhus Maskinmesterskole, Inge Lehmanns Gade 10, 8000 Aarhus C, and at Aarhus Maskinmesterskole's accompanying addresses.
