RECRUITMENT: Statistician and/or Methodologist for a strategic investment in platform trials at Rigshospitalet

Would you like to help develop the clinical research of the future and create a stronger evidence base for patient treatment?

Rigshospitalet strengthens its strategic focus within platform trials and is in this context looking for staff for the cross-disciplinary Platform Trial Unit (PTU). We are looking for you who have a strong methodological foundation and a desire to work closely with clinicians and researchers to develop and conduct the clinical trials of the future.

You will become part of a research-strategic initiative with the ambition to create better evidence for the treatments we offer patients, and at the same time contribute to a more sustainable health care system. In the role you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the clinical research of the future through methodological advice and close collaboration with clinicians and researchers – at Rigshospitalet, nationally and, in time, internationally.

About the position

You will play a central role in the development and dissemination of platform trials at Rigshospitalet. As a statistician and methodologist you will have a broad role: You will be both a close methodological advisor to the clinical departments regarding study design and an operational partner in the development and conduct of concrete platform trials.

Your tasks will include, among others

• advise clinical departments on development, startup and conduct of platform trials
• contribute to the development of concrete platform trials in close collaboration with clinicians, researchers and trial units
• advise on study design, randomization, analysis methods and statistical issues
• contribute to the development of protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAP) and planning of data collection, e.g. development of eCRF.
• translate experiences from concrete platform trials into common methods, standards and tools
• work closely with the unit's project coordinator at interest meetings with new platforms

About the Platform Trial Unit

The Platform Trial Unit currently consists of a team leader, method specialists and project coordinators, and we are currently in the process of strengthening and expanding the unit. The unit supports and advises clinical departments in the development and conduct of platform trials at Rigshospitalet, and contributes to disseminating platform trials and the strategic anchoring nationally and internationally.

The area is characterized by high activity and strong focus, and the first platforms have started recruitment, while others are being planned. The ambition is to develop the Platform Trial Unit into a leading national entry point for clinical platform trials in close collaboration with university hospitals in Denmark and the Nordic countries.

You will thus join a unit where there are both concrete experiences to build on and large opportunities to help shape further development.

About you

We are seeking a statistician and/or method specialist with strong methodological skills and interest in clinical research. You are motivated by translating methodological principles into solutions that work in daily clinical practice.

We imagine that you

• have solid experience with clinical trial design, planning and statistical analyses of clinical trials
• have experience with statistical programming, e.g., in R
• can work independently with complex methodological and operational issues
• have understanding of clinical research and thrive in close collaboration with clinicians and researchers
• work analytically, structured, and curious
• thrive in interdisciplinary collaborations and can manage several projects simultaneously
• Experience with platform trials or adaptive study designs is an advantage, but not a prerequisite

Organizational placement

You will be employed in a staff function at Rigshospitalet as part of the Platform Trial Unit and will work closely with clinical departments across Rigshospitalet. Your immediate supervisor is the unit manager, while the team leader of the Platform Trial Unit will be your closest daily management reference. Job title and salary level are set in accordance with the relevant collective agreement.

Salary and employment terms

Salary placement is as a consultant with employment under the collective agreement for academics employed in regions, etc. - collective agreement 33.01.1
