Rudersdal Libraries are seeking a maternity leave replacement for Team Hospitality & Space

Rudersdal Libraries have sky-high ambitions to spark curiosity by inspiring and challenging citizens' reading culture in many forms and formats.

We have three different libraries in Nærum, Holte and Birkerød, plus a very accessible library offering in Vedbæk. Here we meet citizens with a smile and take the initiative to talk with guests about their reading interests and the service they are seeking from the library.

The hosting role, for us, is about giving citizens a positive experience, so they feel seen, heard and helped. We therefore seek a maternity-cover, who can join our outreach and proactive hosting with experience from a similar position.

Rudersdal Libraries operate in self-managing teams and the team is therefore dependent on one another regarding task execution.

About the job The temporary position is attached to the team "Hosting and Space" which works development-oriented with exhibitions, adult reading enthusiasm and active hosting. You will participate in the daily operation of the exhibitions, which mainly consists of the practical tasks related to new exhibitions and replenishment of materials in all library houses.

• You enjoy talking to people of all ages and want to inspire with good tips for reading experiences.
• You have a broad knowledge of literature and it is a big plus if you have a fondness for popular genres such as crime or feel-good.
• You want to participate in the team’s work with inspiring exhibitions.
• You have good collaboration skills, take shared responsibility for the team’s tasks and communicate in a welcoming way.
• You thrive in a dynamic everyday life with many varied and changing tasks.

Terms of employment The temporary position is available from 14 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter and runs until 31 March 2027.

We expect that there is an opportunity for extension.

The hours are 30 hours per week, and there can be 1-2 morning shifts, 1-2 late shifts per week, 1-2 Sunday shifts and a shift every 4th Saturday.

Salary and terms of employment are agreed according to the applicable collective agreement.
