Librarian/Information Specialist for VIA Library at Campus Viborg

Do you want to teach and guide students, teachers and researchers? Do you have experience in strengthening information literacy – and do you actively work with digital tools, AI and critical reflection? Then this position might be for you?

We are looking for an engaged and professionally strong colleague who, together with us, will help to further develop VIA Library's role as an educational library and active cultural carrier. There will be great emphasis on your ability to build relationships with both students, staff and researchers.

The position should be seen in the context of VIA's strategy and the Library's ambition 2030, where the library plays a central role in strengthening students' digital judgment and critical reflection in encounters with, among others, generative AI.

We place emphasis on you being relationship-oriented, collaborative, able to work independently and alone, and thriving with creating networks across the organization.

Your primary tasks

Teaching and guidance at

• Pædagoguddannelsen samt netbaseret (PÆD)
• Pædagogisk Assistent Uddannelse (PAU)
• Fritidsvejlederuddannelsen
• Softwareingeniøruddannelsen (engelsksproget)
• The Animation Workshop (engelsksproget) which covers three English-language educations:
• Character Animation
• Computer Graphic Arts
• Graphic Storytelling

The Animation Workshop programs are located in the old containers on the edge of the campus and have a different study environment. This means that the library here becomes an integrated part of an ambitious and very creative environment, where you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to developing new ways to support creative students in learning, knowledge sharing.

You will particularly contribute to

• strengthening the students' digital judgement and critical reflection , including in the use of AI
• developing teaching and guidance where AI is included as a professional and didactic element
• supporting both students with academic challenges and students with high ambitions in navigating critically in digital information environments.

Your competencies

We imagine that you

• are trained librarian/information specialist/cand.scient.bibl., cand.it., or have another relevant higher education degree in dissemination, information science, learning or digital technologies
• take responsibility for your own tasks while actively contributing to collaboration and the professional community in a small team at the campus library
• together with your colleagues take responsibility for the practical daily tasks in the physical library
• have experience with teaching, guidance and dissemination and preferably have a creative sense to influence the good study environment in the physical library
• have strong IT-didactic competencies and good algorithmic understanding (AI)
• can work reflectively with AI in an educational context, including ethics, quality and source criticism
• are curious, development-oriented and have the courage to experiment
• thrive in an environment with many collaboration interfaces and ongoing change
• master English in writing and speech
• are a strong team player with a focus on knowledge sharing and good at networking with colleagues at VIA Library locally and across as well as out into the educational environments on campus.

Application deadline

The application deadline is Thursday, 12 November 2026. We expect to conduct interviews on Monday, 23 November 2026 – the position is desired to be filled from 15 January 2027, or as soon as possible.

About the position

You will be employed at VIA Library with primary workplace at Campus Viborg – Prinsens Alle 2 - 8800 Viborg.

You must be prepared for ongoing tasks at other locations in the region, including VIA HF in Nørre Nissum. It is a prerequisite that you have a driving licence.

Full-time position with salary and terms in accordance with the agreement for academics in the state or another relevant collective agreement.
