Section Manager for Water Investment & Finance

Do you want to take responsibility for a new section that works closely with management and sets the direction for important cross-cutting tasks in the water area?

Climate change, supply security, new environmental regulation and demands for economic efficiency are among the factors that HOFOR is increasingly integrating into its business. Therefore the Water Analysis area at HOFOR is undergoing a transformation to increase our ability to create long-term value through high professionalism, consistent task execution and close cross-functional collaboration.

As part of the transformation, we have carried out an organizational change and established several new sections. We therefore seek a section head who will help translate the goals into results.

Set direction for development and coordination

HOFOR faces a number of complex and cross-cutting tasks within the water domain, which require close coordination and clear leadership. Therefore we are seeking a section head who can encompass management support, analytical tasks and development tasks at the same time. You will, among other things, be responsible for developing the way HOFOR works with the water domain and creating coherence between HOFOR’s organization and our owners.

You will become the leader of a new section expected to consist of about 10 employees, working with investment planning and financial analyses, project economics and business cases, development tasks and management support.

Your primary tasks will be to

• Provide leadership, development and support for the section's employees
• Ensure good collaboration across HOFOR's entire organization and within the section
• Translate strategies and needs in the external environment into concrete initiatives
• Ensure qualified management support for the director and area manager as well as plan the decision-making processes for the tasks

You have become familiar with leadership in an organization shaped by change, and you thrive navigating in complex contexts where many interests must be balanced.

To create value in the role it is important that you focus on collaboration and create direction as well as engagement through clear leadership. You are able to maintain an overview, even when frames and priorities change, and you pay attention to details and delivering work of high quality.

We expect that you have

• A relevant advanced education, e.g. political science or another social science background
• Experience with and interest in people management
• Experience with cross-cutting coordination and stakeholder management
• Solid written and verbal communication skills in Danish
• Experience in preparing decision papers for top management

We expect that you create structure, direction and momentum while being able to bring together different professional competences and stakeholders around common goals. Experience from a politically governed organization is an advantage.

You will become head of the Water Investment and Economics section, which is part of the Water Analysis area, currently counting over 30 employees with different backgrounds and experiences. The area consists of two additional sections Water Data and Assets as well as Water Modeling, where you will work closely with the other section leaders.

As the section is under development, you will be responsible for shaping it and building your team through recruiting new employees. The section will consist of several colleagues with, among others, financial and social science competencies.
