About the job

Do you want to make a difference for people with acquired brain injury?

Are you passionate about creating a meaningful everyday life for people with acquired brain injury? Do you thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration, professional development and a daily life where relationships, care and professionalism go hand in hand? Then it might be you we are looking for as our new colleague at the Severe Brain Injury Center North (SCN).

We are looking for 2 occupational therapists full-time with start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

With us you are part of citizens’ everyday life

SCN is a specialized residential facility for adults with moderate to severe acquired brain injury. We are located on Anholtvej in Frederikshavn, close to town, forest and water.

We work purposefully to support citizens’ wishes, dreams and quality of life. With us the core task is a shared responsibility, and we believe that presence, relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration are crucial for citizens’ well-being.

As an employee at SCN you are an active part of citizens’ everyday life. You must therefore be willing to participate in both planned professional initiatives and the daily activities and care tasks. We see occupational therapy as a natural part of the whole day, where we together support citizens’ functional ability, independence, participation and the possibility to live a meaningful life.

SCN consists of two houses with shared spaces, physiotherapy and a lunch room. We also have our own activity offer, where citizens participate in various activities and events.

Professionalism, collaboration and development

You will become part of an interdisciplinary community including among others occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social educators, nurses, social and health assistants, social and health helpers and house assistants.

We view the different professions as a strength and prioritize learning, reflection and professional sparring. You must be able to work independently in a professional team and at the same time convey your professional knowledge constructively in collaboration with colleagues.

We have a strong focus on LA2U and on developing a common professional approach to working with citizens. Training in LA2U is planned for spring 2027. In addition, we prioritize training and competence development within acquired and congenital brain injury as well as communication signs. We also work with neuro-pedagogy and neuropsychology as important elements of the professional effort.

SCN is a residential facility with around-the-clock staffing. You must therefore be prepared for mixed day and evening shifts, every other weekend and on holidays. The health care and educational work go hand in hand, and you must be prepared for personal care, transfers and relevant health care tasks.

We are looking for someone who …

  • Is educated as an occupational therapist and has experience with or an interest in people with acquired brain injury.
  • Wants to be an active part of citizens’ daily life and participate in both professional initiatives, daily activities and care tasks.
  • Can plan, perform and evaluate occupational therapy interventions focused on citizens’ functional ability, independence, participation and quality of life.
  • Can work with meaningful activities, maintenance and development of skills, aids and adaptation of activities to the individual citizen.
  • Has an interest in LA2U, neuro-pedagogy and neuropsychology and a desire to develop knowledge about brain injuries and communication.
  • Can work purposefully with intervention goals, documentation and health services – preferably in Cura.
  • Has good IT skills and can communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Can stay calm and keep overview in challenging situations and meet citizens, relatives and colleagues with acknowledgment and respect.
  • Can reflect on own practice, give and receive professional feedback and actively contribute to a developing working environment.
  • Works professionally with the citizen’s needs and perspective and respects other professional groups’ competencies.

You do not need to know everything from day one. We place emphasis on your professional curiosity, your approach to the citizens and your desire to learn and develop together with us.

We offer you

  • A workplace in good physical surroundings on Anholtvej in Frederikshavn.
  • Engaged and competent colleagues and a strong interdisciplinary community.
  • Opportunity for professional development within LA2U, neuro-pedagogy, neuropsychology and rehabilitation.
  • Teaching in LA2U, acquired and congenital brain injury as well as signs to speech.
  • Thorough onboarding with introductory shifts together with an experienced colleague, including training in health care tasks.
  • Ongoing supervision, professional sparring and opportunities for reflection and learning.
  • A workplace where collaboration, well-being and working environment are given high priority.
  • A daily life with good humor, collegial support and shared responsibility for the core task.

We work together so that SCN shall be a good place to live, a good place to work and a good place to be a relative .

Can you see yourself as part of citizens’ everyday life and our professional community? Then we look forward to hearing from you!
