Senior physicians (2-3) sought for OPUS/Outpatient Clinic for Psychoses, Aalborg University Hospital, Department of General Psychiatry, Aalborg.

In the area of psychoses, we work specialized in the assessment and treatment of patients with primarily psychotic disorders. The area includes two outpatient clinics, namely OPUS with a regional 2-year treatment program for young adults with newly diagnosed psychotic disorders, and the Ambulatory for Psychoses, where we work according to the FACT model with individually tailored offerings for patients with psychotic disorders, and in addition two inpatient wards S1 and S2 with a total of 36 beds.

About the job

The vacant positions are attached to the area of psychoses, primarily with a function either in OPUS or in the Ambulatory for Psychoses, where you as a consultant will have a particularly important task in the form of co-management responsibility for the professional tasks the outpatient clinic undertakes.

You will carry out this task in close collaboration with the treatment team as well as the outpatient manager and the leading consultant in the outpatient clinic, where together you focus on coordination of daily operations, collaboration and the working environment. You will also have close collaboration with colleagues internally in the area.

You will naturally be part of the professional development around psychotic disorders together with the other staff, including specialists, the leading consultant, senior psychologists and senior researchers, and we expect that you, to a suitable extent, participate in the development and research initiatives the area has. Finally, you will have supervision and teaching tasks in relation to your own professional group, other staff and medical students.

The Department of General Psychiatry, Aalborg has a special focus on developing educational tasks in relation to medical students. Education of students is one of Psychiatry's core tasks, which all staff contribute to.

About you

We expect that you are a specialist in psychiatry, have a strong professional profile and that you wish to work in an exciting position with both clinical and development activities as well as possibly research. You thrive in a multidisciplinary work environment with many colleagues and partners, have good communication skills and are able to structure your daily work in connection with the development activities – and of course you are an active team player in a changing daily life.

We expect that you have

• Danish authorization as a specialist in psychiatry
• Good collaborative skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to motivate and provide professional sparring
• Ability to achieve results based on shared direction and coordination
• Experience and competencies within OPUS, F-ACT or integrated dual-diagnosis treatment would be an advantage

The consultant is assessed in accordance with the North Denmark Region's guidelines for assessment when hiring consultants.

About us

Department of General Psychiatry , Aalborg consists of five areas with open and intensive inpatient wards, an emergency psychiatric department with intake and an extensive outpatient function.

The department's inpatient wards are all located in Hospitalsbyen, while all outpatient clinics will be consolidated in an Outpatient Building on Brandevej during the spring 2027.
