About the job

Do you want to lead a new chapter at Boserupvej?

We are looking for an experienced service manager who will help create the future of Boserupvej – with professionalism, shared leadership and citizens' life mastery as the driving force.

At the Boserupvej residential facility we house people with diverse life histories, hopes and dreams. People who need extensive everyday support, and who simultaneously should have as much influence as possible over their own lives.

It is their home, and it is our task to create the conditions for them to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

The Boserupvej residential facility is one of Copenhagen Municipality's largest social-psychiatric residential facilities and a workplace for around 100 employees. The facility is organized into three areas, each with its own daily work, staff and area manager.

We are at a point where a lot is in motion. We have gone through a longer period during which we have had a particular focus on helping citizens outside the target group to move on to other residential facilities, built capacity to work systematically with citizens' inner-perspective, and strengthened the quality of our documentation practices. We still have tasks ahead of us to create stability in operations, strengthen our shared culture, and ensure a continued good and safe working environment.

At the same time, we see major changes ahead. By 2030, the Boserupvej residential facility shall become three smaller residential facilities, and we look forward to being ready with the first newly built facility by the end of 2027.

In other words, you enter a special leadership role. And you will have the opportunity to leave a clear mark on the direction in which the Boserupvej residential facility should develop.

What drives us in the leadership of the Boserupvej residential facility

We are focused on how we create a coherent Boserupvej, where citizens meet with respect, decency and a professional standard that supports their right to decide over their own lives.

We believe that professional quality is created through clear professional leadership, shared reflection and a culture where we are curious about our own practice and dare to challenge what we usually do. Citizens' legal protection must be a natural part of everyday life, and we must always have an eye for how our actions and decisions affect the people who live at the Boserupvej residential facility

We are also focused on creating a cohesive Boserupvej. The three living-area divisions at the facility have different strengths and challenges, and we must therefore succeed together on the common task. This calls for a strong leadership community, where we help each other, take responsibility across, and create a culture where both citizens and employees can thrive.

And we are focused on something fundamental: that everyday life runs smoothly. That we have the right staff and competences in place, that tasks and responsibilities are clear, and that we create stable and sustainable operations. This is an important prerequisite for succeeding with our core task.

We are seeking a service manager who shares these ambitions and who has the experience, courage and desire to translate them into concrete leadership.

You must succeed through others

As service manager you will have overall responsibility for the Boserupvej residential facility and become the immediate supervisor of four area managers.

One of your first tasks will be to bring together and develop the leadership team and create a shared leadership direction. We need a leader who can both give space to other leaders' professionalism and judgement, can be accessible for advice and at the same time be clear about expectations, priorities and responsibilities.

You must be able to create calm and overview when everyday life is complex, and have an eye for both the challenges that require immediate action and the development we must succeed with in the longer term.

We envision that you are an experienced leader with knowledge of psychiatry or social psychiatry as well as leadership of a 24-hour facility. You have experience leading leaders, and you are motivated to create results together with others.

You are clear and decisive, but also listening, curious and focused on people. You have a strong professional and ethical compass and know that good leadership requires presence, courage and perseverance.

You will not be alone with the task

Boserupvej is part of the Center for Long-Term Housing in Copenhagen Municipality’s Social Administration.

You will become part of a leadership community with nine other service leaders in the social-psychiatric area, where we prioritise professional sparring, joint development and cross-collaboration.

You will receive close managerial sparring from your area chief and access to the shared professional and administrative resources in the center.

We know that the task at the Boserupvej residential facility is complex. Therefore it is also important for us that you have a leadership space where we can discuss dilemmas, prioritise and find good solutions together.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and terms of employment are negotiated according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local salary formation.

We expect our new service manager to start on 1 January 2027 and no later than 1 February 2027. The position is 37 hours per week.

We request references and a criminal records check as part of the recruitment process.
