Experienced duty planner for Forensic Psychiatry R2 and R5

We are seeking an experienced and structured duty planner for two inpatient wards, R2 and R5, in the Forensic Psychiatry at Aarhus University Hospital.

The position is 37 hours per week, where you as a rule will have two fixed workdays on R2 and two workdays on R5. You will play a central role in ensuring stable and sustainable duty planning in both wards in close collaboration with the respective ward leaderships.

About the position

As a duty planner, you will play an important role in the daily operations on R2 and R5. You must ensure that the duty rosters support appropriate staffing, good resource use and continuity in patient care.

You will become a central partner for both ward leaderships and must be able to navigate different needs, workflows and organizational frameworks. At the same time you must have an eye for employees’ wishes and well-being and ensure that duty planning complies with applicable working hours rules, collective agreements and local agreements.

Your main tasks will be

• development, maintenance and ongoing adjustment of duty rosters for R2 and R5.
• ensuring appropriate staffing and mix of competencies across shifts.
• planning and coordination of leave, absence, courses and other activities.
• ensuring that duty planning follows applicable working time rules, collective agreements and local agreements.
• supporting effective resource use with focus on quality, work environment and economy.
• ongoing dialogue and coordination with employees and the two ward leaderships.
• handling changes in staffing and solving urgent planning challenges.
• contributing to development and optimization of workflows within shift planning.
• supporting planning in connection with the introduction of new employees.

We expect you to have solid and documented experience with duty planning, ideally from healthcare or another organization with around-the-clock staffing.

The Forensic Psychiatry at Aarhus University Hospital provides specialized psychiatric treatment for patients with complex psychiatric problems.

As a duty planner you will become an important part of the foundation for our daily work on R2 and R5. A well-functioning duty plan is not only an administrative task but an essential prerequisite for ensuring stable operation, good working conditions and high quality in patient care.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours per week with expected start date December 1, 2026.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation.
