About the job

Social- and health care helpers for permanent day shifts at an exciting new unit

Are you trained as a Social- and health care helper and do you have the courage to help start a completely new nursing home with respite beds from the ground up in Rødovre Municipality, then it might be you we are looking for.

About the new nursing home

We will together create a home and a workplace where it is good to live and work. The new nursing home will be more than a traditional care home offering. At the address, in addition to 15 care home places, 14 respite places will also be established for citizens who need temporary overnight accommodation, relief or support for a limited period.

The places shall among other things support citizens with dementia and their relatives and contribute to maintaining as much independence as possible through care and nursing with a person-centered and/or rehabilitative approach.

In the first instance, starting respectively 15.12.26 and 1.1.2027 we hire to a department with space for temporary accommodation, where citizens can come to relieve relatives or because the citizen for one reason or another temporarily cannot stay at home. In January we expect to recruit for the other department.

The early period

You will together with leadership and your colleagues help develop and support the professional direction and at the same time create the culture that will carry the house for many years to come. The culture should reflect high professionalism, a large degree of care and attention and coziness and activity. We solve the tasks together with and around the residents, for example by eating together during meals. This applies whether the citizens are here as residents or citizens in temporary accommodation for relief or assessment.

Your primary tasks

As day shift you and your colleagues will together support citizens’ physical and cognitive functioning both from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. Just as you will be an important part of the collaboration with assistants and the nurse on tasks within your area and an important part of the cooperation with relatives.

Daytime hours are the house's most active time, where you among other things

  • Support residents' morning routines and personal care with a focus on resources and independence
  • Help create an active and meaningful everyday life with activities that stimulate body and mind
  • Contribute to good meals and fellowship around the table
  • Collaborate with relatives who visit the house during the day
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the rehabilitative and person-centered effort
  • Take on a special role in ensuring that the practicum runs smoothly

We are looking for you who

  • Are trained as a social- and health care helper
  • Have an interest in dementia, rehabilitation and preferably experience from the elderly sector
  • Thrive in close collaboration and want to contribute with your professional skills
  • Are engaged, flexible and responsible

We offer

  • The opportunity to help create a workplace with a focus on a good work environment and psychological safety
  • A workplace with influence
  • Opportunity for professional sparring and development

Shifts

You will work in day shifts, where you have weekend service every other weekend. The individual appointment is agreed in consultation with you so that it, as far as possible, fits your everyday life.

Application

Send your application and CV no later than 15.11.2026. For further information or a visit to the unit, contact the current department head Katrine Reffstrup Hansen at phone 4021 9204 or the current manager Marianne Wenkens at phone 30768089

We look forward to hearing from you!
