About the job

Are you a social- and health-care assistant, social educator, or nurse with an interest in psychiatry, recovery, and prevention? Then you might be our new colleague on Ward D1.

About the ward

Ward D1 is an intensive day-and-night ward specializing in affective disorders. We receive patients within the affective specialty and are staffed for 12 beds.

As a social- and health-care assistant, social educator, or nurse on D1 you will become a central part of the daily nursing care for patients with affective disorders. You will work with patients in depressive, manic, and mixed episodes, where relationship-building, observation, assessment, and targeted nursing interventions are important parts of the treatment.

The nursing includes among other things support for structure and mastering everyday life, psychoeducation, medication management, risk assessments, and prevention of conflicts and coercion. Through a recovery-oriented and cognitive approach we work together with the patients to strengthen their resources, hope, and opportunities to master their own life and illness. On Ward D1 all staff work from the cognitive framework, which constitutes the shared professional foundation for our treatment and care.

We work in a professional challenging environment with complex patient pathways and close interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

We collaborate with psychotherapy clinics and FACT teams to ensure good and cohesive patient pathways.

We continuously work on quality development and improvement with a focus on creating the greatest possible value for the patients. In addition, we have close cooperation with the open wards on campus.

We offer

  • To become part of Denmark’s largest affective campus and, therein, training within the affective team.
  • A ward in professional development with focus on quality and improvements.
  • Opportunity to work with prevention and de-escalation in practice.
  • A good introduction and onboarding program with several training and teaching days.
  • Supervision every 14 days.
  • An engaged and professionally strong colleague community.
  • An exciting and challenging work environment where professionalism is highly valued.
  • A department where safety for both patients and staff is prioritized.
  • A ward with a shared professional foundation, where all staff work from the cognitive framework and recovery-oriented principles.

We are seeking a colleague who

  • Is a licensed social- and health-care assistant or nurse, or trained social educator.
  • Has an interest in psychiatry and working with patients with affective disorders.
  • Takes responsibility in nursing care.
  • Is a team player.
  • Works recovery-oriented and with a focus on patient involvement.
  • Is professionally curious and desires ongoing competence development.
  • Is adaptable and contributes positively to development and changes.
  • Has training as a prevention instructor or wishes to train in the area.
  • Often has experience with psychophysical training, conflict management, or de-escalation.
  • Has interest or experience in working from the cognitive framework.
