About the job

Do you want to join the healthcare system of the future?

Would you like to make a difference for citizens who are in a changed or unclear life course? And do you thrive best when professionalism, collaboration, and a fast-paced daily life go hand in hand? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for.

At the Rehabilitation and Short-Term Center – ROK – we are facing an exciting transformation. On 1 January 2027, ROK becomes Health and Care Placements, and as part of the health reform the responsibility for the area is transferred to the Region of Southern Denmark. We are therefore moving into a new reality where the framework around the temporary placements changes, and where there will be even greater focus on cohesive health trajectories, rehabilitation, and the local health services.

If you want to be involved both in everyday work and in the development of the health and care placements of the future, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

About ROK

ROK is the Municipality of Aabenraa's offer to citizens who for a period need a temporary stay because their functional level has changed, or because they need a closer clarification of their situation.

The citizens most often come from the hospital and are at different stages of a process. Some need to regain function and strength after illness or hospitalization, while others need clarification of their future needs for help, housing, or support.

This means that two days are rarely alike.

We have 26 temporary placements and a large flow of citizens. It places demands on our professionalism, our overview, and not least our ability to collaborate around the individual citizen.

And collaboration matters a lot to us.

We are a multidisciplinary staff group consisting of nurses, social and health care assistants, social and health care helpers, training assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, house assistants, administrative staff and nursing leaders.

We work in two interdisciplinary teams with 13 citizens each. You will be attached to a primary team so we can create continuity and a close acquaintance with both the citizens and each other.

We have many balls in the air – but we believe they are best caught when we do it together.

We offer

With us you get a daily life where you have the opportunity to use your professionalism and develop it further.

You will among other things get

  • a workplace with a high degree of responsibility, independence and influence
  • a close and active multidisciplinary collaboration
  • an opportunity to help shape and develop our practice in a time when the entire area is undergoing change
  • a daily life with varied and professionally engaging citizen journeys
  • an opportunity to influence your work schedule through a wish plan, which is subsequently finalized by our shift planners
  • focus on professional development through, among other things, thematic hours, teaching, supervision and sparring
  • an opportunity to develop both your professional and personal competences
  • an opportunity to help test new technological solutions that can make everyday life easier and free up time for the core task – among other things we are working with sensor technology and artificial intelligence in our rooms.

About you

We expect that you

  • are educated as a social and health care assistant with Danish authorization.
  • work naturally from a rehabilitative and holistic approach
  • can maintain calm and overview, even when the pace rises
  • dare to make decisions and act when the situation requires it
  • can prioritize and adapt when today’s plan changes
  • communicate in an affirming, clear and professional manner
  • actively contribute to good cooperation – with colleagues, citizens, relatives and partners
  • want to be part of an environment where we both solve today’s tasks and develop tomorrow’s practice
  • thrive with shifting shifts and perform well in the transition between shift types.

Perhaps you already have experience from a somatic area. Perhaps you come with another relevant experience. The most important for us is that you want to use your professionalism, take responsibility, and be part of the community.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are according to the current collective agreement

There is information about a maternity leave substitute with start date 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.

The position is initially 37 hours per week. However, at the applicant’s initiative, a concrete dialog about desired employment rate can be entered into.

You can expect to work every other weekend, but have 3 vacation weeks per year. Your shifts will primarily be in the evening, and secondarily in day or night shifts depending on your preference. At ROK, the SOSU group works in a primary and a secondary shift type to increase familiarity with workflows in other shift teams, as well as to ensure flexibility in shift planning for both employees and management.

You are employed by Aabenraa Municipality’s Rehabilitation and Short-Term Center, but will transfer to employment under the new department Citizen-Centered Health of Sønderjylland Hospital on 1/1-2027.

Please note that a criminal record check will be obtained prior to employment, and that employment is contingent on this being satisfactory.
