Social pedagogue wanted for a small activity and social contact facility with high professionalism and a strong sense of community

Do you like being outdoors? Are you passionate about making a difference for people with special needs? Then you might be our new colleague in our activity and social program, “Bevægelse og Samvær”.

We did not find the right colleague at first, so now we try again. We are looking for a social educator for Bevægelse og Samvær, which is a small offering for 8-9 citizens with significant and permanent reduced physical and mental function. With us, daily life is built around fixed and recognizable anchors such as morning companionship, excursions and quiet periods. The fixed framework creates predictability and safety and provides a good foundation for the citizens' well-being and development.

We work purposefully to strengthen the citizens' social, physical, personal and sensory skills. Nature and the public space are an important part of our pedagogical work, and therefore we go on excursions every forenoon – always in smaller groups. We typically walk 3-5 km daily, and as we have our own bus, it is an advantage if you have a driving license. The afternoon we spend at home with relaxation and more tranquil activities.

As our new colleague you will become part of a small, engaged team of four staff who are dedicated to making a difference for the citizens every day. Focus on development and learning

We are part of the Job, Activity and Competence Center (JAC) in Gentofte Municipality, where we believe that all people can develop and learn new things. Our pedagogical approach is based on the zone of proximal development. We design individual learning pathways for the citizens, based on their wishes and needs, which you will help plan and implement.

We are looking for you who

• Are a trained pedagog and preferably have experience with the target group
• Are flexible, patient and have a sense of humor
• Enjoy being outdoors in all kinds of weather
• Are attentive, proactive and thrive with responsibility
• Are professionally grounded
• Are willing to work with personal care, as some citizens need assistance
• Can articulate yourself in writing, as there is a fair amount of documentation work and knowledge of Sensum is an advantage.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 37 hours with start date 1 January 2027. The position is paid according to the agreement for social educators. As part of Gentofte Municipality's personnel policy, an extended criminal record check must be obtained at the time of hire.

We will hold the first round of interviews on 24 November and the second round on 26 November 2026.
