About the job

Do you want to use your professional skills to make a difference for people with mental health challenges? And are you motivated by creating secure relationships and helping residents build a daily life that makes sense for them? Then you may be the person we are looking for at Rønnebo in Brønshøj.

At Botilbuddet Rønnebo we are currently seeking engaged social-educational support workers who want to help create a safe and supportive home for the residents, where opportunities for development have the best conditions.

What do you get with us?

  • A complex and meaningful daily life where you use your pedagogical skills to make a difference for the residents
  • Opportunity to work with relationship-building, recovery and rehabilitation as well as supporting residents in their development and daily life
  • A strong multidisciplinary community where you collaborate with social and health care colleagues on holistic interventions
  • Professional sparring and good opportunities for development and specialization within social psychiatry
  • Thorough introduction and the necessary training if you are new to some of the tasks

About Rønnebo and the residents

Rønnebo is a long-term residential facility under the Danish Public Social Services Act § 108 with 64 residents who live with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, severe affective disorders, recurrent psychoses, anxiety and depression. Some residents also have active substance use and social challenges, while others have somatic illnesses or physical disabilities.

The residents live in their own apartments, and daily life includes both community, activities and support for the individual. It can range from communal meals, creative activities and excursions to assistance with practical tasks and personal care.

The residents have different needs and some residents may occasionally display milder outwardly directed behavior. Rønnebo is not a facility for citizens with pronounced outwardly directed behavior, but it is important that you have an understanding of and preferably experience with working with people in vulnerable positions.

We work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative with the starting point in each resident’s wishes, resources and goals. For us, small progress can be big victories – and it is exactly them you help create the framework for.

Your role as a contact person

As a contact person you will have a special responsibility for three to four residents. Together with the residents and your colleagues you will work on their individual goals and needs.

Your tasks will include, among others, to

  • build trusting relationships and support the residents in mastering everyday life
  • assist with social activities, personal hygiene and practical tasks
  • work with structure, social skills training and the residents’ individual goals
  • apply a recovery-oriented approach and methods such as Low Arousal 2
  • collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to create coherent interventions

You will largely apply your pedagogical competencies in collaboration with the residents. There is no one solution that works for everyone – or every time. Therefore you must be able to think creatively, be curious about the individual and determine what motivates and supports the resident in the best possible way.

The work is varied, and the residents’ needs can change from day to day. Therefore it is important that you are patient, flexible and appreciative in your interactions with the individual. You must also be prepared that personal care is a smaller part of the job. If you do not have experience with it, we will provide training.

A strong professional community

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of about 36 colleagues with both social and health care backgrounds. We use each other’s professionalities and help each other find good solutions for the residents.

Management is visible in everyday life and focuses on both staff well-being and residents’ needs. We prioritize a good working environment and a balance between work and leisure, so there is room for life outside the workplace.

When you start with us, you will receive a thorough introduction and a mentor who will help you get started with the tasks. We emphasize professional sparring, collaboration and a daily life with space for both development and community.

We imagine you are

  • having a pedagogical education
  • having experience from social psychiatry, residential care or similar areas and knowing what it means to work rehabilitatively
  • using methods such as Low Arousal, social skills training and recovery-oriented approaches to support the residents’ development
  • having an appreciative approach, being patient and understanding how to build trust and security for the resident
  • thriving in multidisciplinary collaboration and contributing to joint solutions

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay setting.

The positions are 37 hours per week with rotating day, evening and weekend shifts. You work weekend shifts every third weekend.

We wish to fill the positions by January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

In connection with the employment we will obtain a criminal record certificate as well as references.
