Social Worker for Maternity Leave Cover in the Disability Team at the Authority

Who are we?

In the Handicap Team you will join a team with seven advisors, two administrative staff, a social-professional consultant and an office manager. The administrative staff support, among other things, the work with cases concerning compensation benefits.

In the Handicap Team we work with children and young people with disabilities and their families aged 0-18 years as well as with youth support up to the age of 23. We sit in Tinglev together with the Children’s Team, which works with supportive interventions for children aged 0-12 years and their families.

We place emphasis on professional sparring, collaboration and common reflection in everyday work. At the same time we focus on holistic and coherent interventions, where the perspectives of the child, the young person and the family are central in the cooperation. We also emphasize early supportive intervention in our work with children and their families.

We work with a basis in Aabenraa Municipality’s cohesive child, youth and family policy, which is called “Together for the good child-, youth- and family life.” With the child, the young person and the family at the center, we focus on early intervention, close cooperation and involvement, so families experience completeness and coherence in our actions. About you

We expect you to be professionally

• Educated social worker or social educator
• Have experience with or interest in the specialized handicap area
• Have experience with authority tasks
• Have experience with or a willingness to acquire ICS method and the professional system DUBU
• Have experience with or a willingness to handle reports, applications, develop assessments and child-related investigations and follow up on and complete processes
• Be good at communicating both verbally and in writing.

Your tasks

• Assess and handle the reports that come in for your ongoing cases
• Interview parents and children/young people as parties
• Process applications for handicap-compensating benefits
• Include the child or young person in their own case
• Prepare assessments and child-related investigations
• Conduct child interviews
• Follow up on the interventions that have been initiated
• Collaborate with your colleagues on special cases
• Participate in professional discussions both at sparring meetings and at joint events
• Contribute to the professional and collegial community

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions according to the applicable collective agreement. All advisors are assigned an hardship allowance of annually DKK 12,000 (31.3.00 level).

The position is 37 hours and with employment starting 1 January 2027.

Prior to employment, child and criminal record checks will be obtained, and employment will be conditional on satisfactory results.
