About the job
We are looking for a new colleague with education as social worker/social translator for a permanent position of 37 hours per week with commencement on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Do you want to help make a difference for people experiencing homelessness? Do you have solid experience with the target group and a desire to work with authority tasks in a specialized team where professionalism, collaboration and development go hand in hand? Then you may be the person we are looking for in Team Housing First.
Who are we?
The Adult Social Services Admissions Unit is part of the Adult Social Services in Job and Social. We are a dynamic department with about 100 colleagues distributed across six teams, working purposefully with citizens with reduced physical or mental functioning or with special social problems.
In Team Housing First we work cross-disciplinary and holistically to ensure that people who are homeless, functionally homeless, and citizens at crisis centers receive the best possible support to create a stable and meaningful life.
We believe that housing is the foundation for a new beginning, and that individualized, flexible and cohesive support is essential to create lasting solutions.
With a basis in the Housing First approach, we systematically work to support rapid housing placement and ensure the right support at the right time. We work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative, with the citizen’s hopes, desires and dreams as a central driving force in the process.
Our ambition is not only to secure housing but to support the citizen’s opportunities to create a life marked by meaning, stability and self-determination.
A specialized working area with a complex target group
Work in the homelessness field requires both strong social work competencies and an in-depth understanding of the special life conditions and challenges that characterize the target group.
We work with citizens where homelessness is often closely linked to complex and intertwined social problems, including mental vulnerability, substance use issues, limited social networks and difficulties in creating stability in daily life.
It places particular demands on our professional assessments, understanding of citizens’ situations and ability to create coherent solutions across disciplines and sectors.
Therefore it is important to us that you have concrete experience with working with people who are homeless and a solid knowledge of the target group’s special needs and challenges. We are looking for a colleague who can actively bring their experience and professional understanding into play in authority work, and who can navigate complex citizen paths with professional security, integrity and respect for each individual.
A day-to-day life with professionalism, development and collaboration
In Team Housing First you become part of a specialized and development-oriented unit where we continuously work to strengthen our professionalism and develop the way we solve our core task.
We have a strong team spirit and prioritize professional sparring, knowledge sharing and shared responsibility for task solving. We believe that the best solutions are created through collaboration, both internally in the team and with our many partners.
As an authority advisor you will play a central role in working to secure cohesive citizen pathways. Your tasks will include case processing, social work assessments, decisions, follow-ups and close coordination with relevant partners.
We work in a field where tasks can change and where it requires both overview, flexibility and the ability to prioritize.
At the same time, we are a department that dares to challenge conventional thinking and test new solutions when they can create better results for citizens.
We especially emphasize that you
- Have solid knowledge of the homelessness area and concrete experience with working with people who are homeless or functionally homeless.
- Understand the target group’s complex and intertwined social problems and can translate this knowledge into a qualified authority effort.
- Have knowledge of the Housing First approach and understanding of the importance of a recovery-oriented and rehabilitative practice.
- Can work in a holistic way and see opportunities to create coherence in complex citizen pathways.
- Have an eye for both the citizen’s needs, the professional quality and the financial framework we operate within.
- Thrive with authority work and the administrative tasks that come with it, including social work assessments, documentation and follow-up.
- Are a team player who actively contributes to good teamwork, where different perspectives and areas of expertise are seen as a strength.
- Are proactive, take responsibility and want to influence and develop the professionalism in our joint task solving.
We expect you to
- Be educated as a social worker/social facilitator or have another relevant social professional education.
- Have experience with or good prerequisites for working with authority tasks in the specialized adult area.
- Can work with the Adult Assessment Method (VUM) and targeted social professional documentation.
- Can make professionally and legally well-founded decisions and stand by them with a good and respectful citizen dialogue at the center.
- Can engage constructively in cross-disciplinary collaborative relationships, both internally and externally.
- Work systematically and can create an overview of large amounts of case information, ensuring progress and quality in task solving.
- Can prioritize your tasks and maintain an overview in a day with changing needs and tasks.
- Can work from the Admissions Unit’s value set: "The good hospitality – with the citizen in focus".
- Have a valid driving license for a ordinary passenger car.
We can offer you
- A meaningful job where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for people in vulnerable life situations.
- A specialized workplace with high professionalism and committed colleagues.
- A strong collegial community where we prioritize sparring, collaboration and helping each other succeed.
- Opportunity for both professional and personal development.
- An development-oriented workplace where you get the opportunity to influence both task solving and the professional direction.
- A varied and sometimes busy daily life with exciting and complex tasks.
- A good working environment where we also prioritize social events and the collegial community.
- Service cars at disposal.
