Are you a trained social worker and do you want to help make a difference for some of Denmark's most vulnerable youths with a basis in our core task, then please read on.

We are seeking trained social workers to be part of everyday operations and interaction with children and young people in our services. You will therefore apply for a job where you are not sitting behind a desk and writing the order, but instead are involved in carrying it out, collaborating with colleagues, children and young people on it, and ensuring that the interventions are documented and delivered in writing.

We provide thorough introduction, a mentor program and escort shifts in the practical collaboration with experienced colleagues in the residential units, so you are equipped with tools, methods and workflows before you take responsibility for the task solution.

Egely - in brief

Egely is the Region of Southern Denmark's secured 24-hour facility for youths aged 12 to 17 who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 20 places, of which 5 are in the specially secured department. There are about 60 youths admitted per year. Currently we have 2 open departments with a total of 10 places, and we are preparing to open a specially secured department with 4 places.

When Egely has all places open, we are around 80 employees – mainly pedagogical staff in the residential units, but also psychologists, health professionals, social workers, teachers and other professional groups.

The young people we work with often have complex challenges with outwardly reactive behavior, crime, substance abuse or psychiatric issues.

Our most important task is to help the young people find calm and stability, so they can develop new life strategies and take steps toward a better future.

All children and young people at Egely are offered teaching or day activities in our internal teaching house, and have their daily and leisure lives in a residential unit with four other children and young people.

The young people are often accommodated on the basis of complex social, psychiatry-related and behavioral challenges such as outwardly reactive or criminal behavior, substance abuse and other challenges.

Your profile

You must be prepared to work in a team around the citizen in a coordinated, rehabilitative effort in the everyday life of children and young people, where you together make a difference every single day. In that team it is important that you contribute with your professional knowledge and hands-on experience in a cross-disciplinary collaboration in a team-based organization.

It is therefore important that you

• Have a desire for direct contact and the execution of the offer to children and young people in everyday life.
• Are a trained social worker, preferably with experience as an performing professional from the social or psychiatric field
• Have a strong understanding of legislation and authorities processes, and can translate this into everyday support for children and young people in our services.
• Are structured, systematic and confident in documentation work about the child and the young person in the collaboration on the daily content and the agreed goals, orders and deliveries hereof.
• Are skilled in relationship building and establishing professional and constructive collaboration with both the young people and the colleagues.
• Can maintain overview and calm in a high-paced day with high demands
• Are engaged in own and shared professional development.

Your main tasks

• Collaborate, conduct conversations and plan interventions and agreements with children and young people individually and in group processes.
• Take on the role of role model in direct interaction and collaboration with children and young people, including with particular focus on mentalizing, guiding and a calm, visible framework for everyday life.
• Document pedagogical interventions, structures and approaches in the citizen administrative system and take responsibility for working methodically and systematically in accordance with guidelines and described workflows herefor.
• Prepare, document and evaluate sub-goals, development plans, well-being and safety plans, pedagogical observations and statements in collaboration with children and young people.
• Plan and conduct inclusive dialogues about the individual’s experienced needs and well-being via team-Young conversations.
• In collaboration with your team ensure planning of cooperation and contact with networks and partners around the individual children and youths. Keep parents/guardians informed and involved as needed.
• Plan and continuously adjust the support and framework for social communities within and across departments.

The practical

The positions are 37 hours per week. In the Region of Southern Denmark all positions must be advertised as full-time positions. However, it should be noted that if you choose to apply and you want a part-time position you must state this in your application

Your application must include documentation of education, a complete CV and relevant attachments.

Working hours will be on rotating day/evening shifts, every 2nd weekend and on public holidays.

We expect you to have a driving license for a passenger car.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position.

You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in the collective agreement for: Social workers, collective agreement number 32.32.1

In addition to the starting salary, the position may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. There may also be shift allowances.
