Social worker/social mediator for the special area in the Family Department

In connection with the influx of additional resources, we are increasing staffing as of January 1, 2027. We are therefore looking for social workers/social facilitators for the Children with Disabilities team in Vejle Municipality's Family Department.

We are therefore looking for passionate social workers/social facilitators who also want to contribute to the well-being and development of children and families in challenging life situations.

About the job

We are recruiting three social workers/social facilitators with start date on 01 January 2027 or as soon as possible. There are two permanent positions at 30 and 32 hours respectively, and a maternity cover at 32 hours.

In the Family Department in Vejle Municipality there are currently 83 full-time child and youth welfare workers employed.

The specialised area you now have the opportunity to join is divided into two teams, namely the Youth Team and Children with Disabilities. This means in practice that you will be part of an authority area where we are more than 30 advisers, 3 professional consultants and two team leaders who all have high ambitions to make a difference for children and young people with disabilities.

We take shared responsibility and help each other. This means that you do not have to be an expert in everything, but together we can do a lot!

The target group is children and youths where the child has a physical or mental disability, where Children with Disabilities covers ages 0-14, and this is where the positions are anchored.

Your primary tasks will be

• Target group clarification
• Approvals/decisions
• General case processing – including meetings, counseling and guidance
• Follow-ups on both disability-related benefits and measures
• Preparation of assessments and child-related investigations
• Preparation of the Child’s Plan
• Initiating support under the Child Act
• And of course involvement of the child and their parents!

We focus on good and close cooperation with the child, the parents, the network and our partners. In the Family Department we work holistically and in a dialogue-based approach to case handling, with a focus on increased involvement of both private and professional networks, and where the family, the child and the young person are co-players through inclusive network meetings. It is an advantage if you have experience with network involvement.

What we expect from you

• That you are educated as a social worker or a social facilitator
• That you are passionate about the target group and see the importance of involvement, also in the specialized area.
• That you want to be part of a team in professional development, that values your input both socially and professionally.
• That you see the importance of, and are able to work closely with families' private and professional networks
• That you are professionally and textually strong – and can work both independently and with others
• That you regard professionalism, documentation, follow-up, structure and overview as a natural part of your work – and focus on case flow
• That you have an affirming and mentalizing approach – and at the same time thrive in the role of authority adviser
• Experience with DUBU is an advantage, but not a requirement
• That you have a driving license, as there are often meetings outside the office

About us

The Family Department is located at Skolegade 1 and on Boulevarden 19HK in Vejle. We are organised into four adviser teams; Administration and Reception, Children, Children with Disabilities and Youth.

Reception: Receives all notifications, performs 24-hour assessment, conducts screening, provides advice and guidance and initiates support under §30 and handles urgent cases.

Children: The target group is ages 0-15. Here, assessments, Child Welfare Investigations and the Child’s Plan are prepared. Support under the Child Act is initiated and follow-up on measures is conducted.

Children m. disabilities: The target group is ages 0-15, where the child has a physical or mental disability. In the team, target group clarification, screening, approvals and follow-up regarding disability-related benefits are carried out. Here, assessments, Child Welfare Investigations and the Child’s Plan are prepared. Support under the Child Act is initiated and follow-up on measures is conducted.

Youth: The target group is 15-18 (23) years, where the young person may have social challenges and/or physical or mental disability. Here, assessments, Child Welfare Investigation and Youth Plan are prepared. Support under the Child Act is initiated and follow-up on measures is conducted. In the team, there is also target group clarification, approvals and follow-up regarding disability-related benefits in cases where the young person has a disability. In Youth, we are focused on a good transition to adulthood.

Employment terms

Two permanent positions at 30 and 32 hours as well as a maternity cover at 32 hours. Expected start 1 January 2027, or as soon as possible.

Employment is subject to the collective agreement for social workers and social facilitators, §§ 3-6 on wage setting. The expected starting full-time salary excluding pension is 34,622 DKK / falls within the range 34,622 - 38,657 DKK depending on seniority. It should be noted that final placement, including collective agreement basis and salary level, is determined based on your education and qualifications and the specific offered position.

A fixed flexibility allowance is paid in relation to working hours, as there may be work outside normal office hours – usually planned.
