About the job

Would you help ensure that the City of Copenhagen uses its software licenses effectively and responsibly?

Are you passionate about creating overview, governance and development in an area of great importance to the entire municipality? Do you thrive working in a community where collaboration, professionalism and wellbeing are in focus? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for to our license management team in the Corporate IT (Koncern IT).

About the position

You will become part of a license management team where we work together to ensure optimal management of software licenses across the municipality. The team is under development, and you will contribute to both operational tasks and development of the area. You will participate in administrative tasks while also taking part in cross-functional and development-oriented projects. Here we work in an engaged and professional environment where collaboration and good humor are in focus.

In daily collaboration you will work with colleagues from IT, finance and procurement, as well as suppliers and management. Your contribution helps create an overview of the municipality's software licenses and provides a solid basis for the decisions we make in IT.

Your responsibilities

You will, among other things, be responsible for

  • analyzing software and license consumption and identifying opportunities for efficiency and savings across the organization
  • ensuring compliance with license agreements and reducing audit and business risks
  • interpreting and translating license terms and contract conditions into practice
  • developing and maintaining governance, processes and controls within license management
  • contributing to reporting and analyses and using them as a basis for decision proposals
  • collaborating with suppliers and contributing to contract and license negotiations

Your profile

We imagine that you have experience with the following areas, but we do not expect you to be able to check every box

  • license management and software asset management (SAM)
  • software licensing, e.g., within Microsoft or other major software domains
  • compliance, audit readiness and license risk management
  • contract understanding and legal aspects of software licenses
  • economic analysis, budgeting and license optimization
  • governance, processes and data-driven governance
  • reporting, analyses and decision proposals based on license and consumption data (Effective License Positions)
  • practical experience working with SAM tools
  • general understanding of IT infrastructure and interconnections across systems

Curiosity and the ability to acquire new knowledge are important in the role. You must be able to think in terms of the whole and contribute to coherent solutions. It is also an advantage if you have relevant certifications in SAM or license management.

In addition, we would like you to

  • work in a structured and systematic way and create overview and ensure quality in daily tasks
  • take responsibility and work independently – you follow your tasks through to the end
  • be analytical and detail-oriented and work thoroughly with data and documentation
  • be service-minded and collaborative and contribute constructively to the team's task solving
  • have a knack for optimizing workflows and a desire to contribute to cross-functional tasks

It is advantageous if you have experience from a larger organization, but not a requirement. The most important is that you want to take ownership of both administrative tasks and development – and that you contribute with good humor and engagement.

We offer

  • an opportunity to become part of a strong professional environment focused on license management
  • great influence on the development of processes, governance and data basis
  • tasks with high complexity and significance for the entire organization
  • collaboration with engaged colleagues across IT, finance and business
  • good opportunities for professional development and specialization
  • a workplace with a focus on collaboration, wellbeing and results

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation.

The position is 37 hours per week with family-friendly hours and flexible time. Your workplace will be Corporate IT at Borups Allé in Copenhagen NV.
