About the job

Would you like to help create a daily life where children and adults thrive and develop?

We are looking for an engaged, play-qualified department head who is passionate about being close to the children and the staff, and who sees the value in developing the pedagogical quality where everyday life takes place.

About the job

As the department head you will be part of an engaged management team where we together set direction, create development and take responsibility for the pedagogical quality and the shared core task.

You will spend your daily work in a kindergarten group about 30 hours per week, where you, together with the staff, are close to the children and their everyday life. Here you will play an important role in translating our pedagogical visions into practice, supporting the professional development of staff and creating learning environments where all children experience well-being, opportunities to participate and a sense of community.

We are also facing an exciting process where we will move to new premises in 2028. This gives us the opportunity to think together about new frameworks, possibilities and pedagogical learning environments that support the children’s play, development and communities. As department head you will be an important part of this process and have the opportunity to shape both everyday life and the further development of our day care institution.

About us

Solsikken/Tusindfryd is an integrated institution on two sites. Solsikken houses three infant groups and 1-2 kindergarten groups. In Tusindfryd are the older kindergarten children. At the start of 2028 we move to new premises in Roberthus.

Solsikken/Tusindfryd is part of the local community in Egtved with close cooperation with the school and the Day Care service.

We have all participated in Vejle Municipality's development program with Tea Thyrre Sørensen, which focuses on neuropsychological perspectives, and are in the process of implementing the principles.

We offer you

  • An exciting and varied position where you combine management tasks with close pedagogical practice.
  • Opportunity to be close to the children and staff and make a visible difference in everyday life.
  • Opportunity to influence the pedagogical development and help create high quality in everyday life.
  • A workplace focused on well-being, job satisfaction and collegial community.
  • A close collaboration between parents, staff, management and the local environment
  • Opportunity to develop your leadership skills in close sparring with the management.
  • Opportunity to help develop the institution’s framework, culture and working routines when we move to new premises.
  • A position where you have the opportunity to bring both your pedagogical and leadership competencies into play.

Employment conditions

The position is 37 hours per week, and includes an exciting combination of management and pedagogical practice. You have 7 hours per week for management tasks and 30 hours in a children’s group.

Application deadline

We need your application no later than Sunday 22 November 2026
