About the job

A position as a consultant radiologist at the Neuro, Radiology and Scanning Section, Aarhus University Hospital is available for appointment from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is intended to be filled by an engaged consultant in diagnostic radiology with an interest in – and preferably experience with – neuroradiology.

We offer an exciting and versatile job in the section's diagnostic team, where you as part of the department's consultant group will participate in the section's clinical work, teaching, research and development. The tasks vary between acute and more planned cases, and we place high value on flexibility as well as the ability to collaborate and supervise.

Afsnit Neuro is an around-the-clock department with many acute examinations that require a neuroradiology consultant on call 24/7 every day of the week. You will, together with the department's other specialists and consultants, help cover these shifts.

Our working days vary with different tasks involving many descriptions and multidisciplinary collaboration in connection with scanning and referrals, but also with various multidisciplinary conferences across AUH. The section handles tasks at main, regional and highly specialized functional levels. We service the clinical departments Neurology, Brain and Spine Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases and Ophthalmology.

In addition, examinations are performed for especially the Cancer Department and the hospital's other departments, and we collaborate with departments at hospitals in the Central Denmark Region and the Northern Denmark Region. The section has a CT scanner, six MR scanners, of which three are shared with research, and two interventional suites.

The permanent medical group in Afsnit Neuro currently consists of 9 consultants and 4 consultants (speciallæger). In addition, 2 new specialists start over the next two years as they complete their specialist training. We supervise the main education in 6-month programs for about 6 doctors at a time. We have a close collaboration with nursing staff and secretaries in the section, where we total about 65 employees.

Afsnit Neuro is one of four sections in Radiology and Scanning at AUH. This means that as a consultant you will need to orient yourself within and participate in a larger professional community with many engaged colleagues and thereby support patient care and the section's overall operations.

For further elaboration of the functions in the position, please refer to the job and function description.

The application must be prepared in accordance with the Health Authority's description of the 7 physician roles and must include specialist authorization, curriculum vitae and a list of publications.

The applicant's qualifications will be assessed based on the 7 physician roles. Fill out the form here and attach your application.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement. The appointment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check and a satisfactory authorization.

The application deadline is 25 October 2026 . Interviews are expected to be held on 5 November 2026 .

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting Chief Consultant Cathrine Carlsen Bach at [email protected].

The position is, in principle, a full-time position.

As the Region of Central Denmark conducts ongoing savings and reorganizations, employees in redeployment who apply for the position will have priority for an interview.

Region of Central Denmark, in accordance with the EU directive on wage transparency that came into force on 7 June 2026, is obliged to inform you of the starting salary or a salary range for a position before offering employment.
