About the job
General Psychiatry Department Aalborg, Aalborg University Hospital as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement
Do you want to combine your general medical expertise with specialized psychiatry and help create better and more coherent patient pathways for people with depression?
We are seeking a specialist in general medicine for a full-time position in Team Depression at the Outpatient Clinic for Affective Disorders.
We want to strengthen our clinical offering and the collaboration between psychiatry and general practice. Here we view general medical expertise as a valuable resource that can contribute to better handling of patients’ overall treatment needs and create greater coherence in their pathways across sectors.
We therefore seek a physician who wishes to participate in the daily clinical work with assessment and treatment of depression, and who simultaneously wants to actively contribute with their general medical perspective in the development of our treatment offering and collaboration with primary care.
Your tasks
You will become part of the clinical team and participate in the assessment and treatment of patients with depression, including patients with complex and comorbid problems.
Your tasks will include, among others
- Clinical assessment, diagnostic evaluations and treatment of patients with depression.
- Medical treatment and assessment of the interplay between mental disorders, somatic diseases and other health-related issues.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration on treatment plans and the organization of coherent patient pathways.
- Collaboration with general practice on referral, treatment pathways and re-referral to their own GP.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of workflows and interfaces between the outpatient clinic and the primary sector.
A position with professional development and opportunity to influence
You will have the opportunity to develop your competencies in psychiatric diagnostics and treatment of depression and comorbid conditions in a specialized professional environment with access to sparring with experienced psychiatrists and other professional groups.
At the same time we want to learn from your general medical experience. We see a great potential in bringing general medicine and psychiatry closer together – both in concrete patient care and in transitions where patients move between primary care and psychiatry.
You will therefore have the opportunity to shape the development of our clinical practice and contribute ideas on how we can strengthen collaboration with general practice and create more coherent patient pathways.
We are looking for you who
- Is a specialist in general medicine.
- Has an interest in psychiatry and in the assessment and treatment of depression.
- Wants to work with patients with complex problems and comorbidity.
- Has an interest in cross-sector collaboration and a desire to develop better transitions between psychiatry and general practice.
- Thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and wants both to learn new things and contribute with your own professional competencies.
We offer
- A full-time position with clinical work in a specialized outpatient clinic.
- Opportunity to develop competencies in psychiatric assessment and treatment.
- A professional environment with interdisciplinary collaboration and opportunity for sparring.
- Opportunity to actively apply your general medical competencies and influence the development of our treatment offerings.
- Opportunity to contribute to strengthening the collaboration between psychiatry and general practice for the benefit of patients.
If you want to combine general medical expertise with specialized psychiatry and help make a difference for patients with depression, we look forward to hearing from you.
