Specialist Doctor for the Department of Plastic Surgery, Odense University Hospital with main service at the Plastic Surgery Section, Lillebaelt Hospital, Vejle

Available for occupancy as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

Main place of service: Sygehus Lillebælt Vejle. There will be service at OUH to an extent corresponding to the section's other specialists.

Plastikkirurgisk afdeling Z, OUH is a dynamic university department with almost all functions at basic, regional and highly specialized levels. Some of the department's doctors have their main place of service at the Organ- and Plastic Surgery Department, Sygehus Lillebælt Vejle, Plastic Surgery Section.

The plastic surgery department at Vejle Hospital is organized so that Plastic Surgery Department Z, OUH holds the medical responsibility, while the Organ- and Plastic Surgery Department, Vejle Hospital has the operational responsibility. Sygehus Lillebælt Vejle is a specialist hospital for cancer in the Jutland part of the Region of Southern Denmark.

The plastic surgery department at Vejle Hospital has, in accordance with the specialty plan for plastic surgery, a main functional level in plastic surgery and as an external function from the OUH regional function within oncologic plastic surgery with melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer and reconstructive breast surgery. The activity is almost entirely elective, and there is no plastic surgical acute admission during the on-call period.

The section in Vejle is a well-functioning, independent, smaller unit, where the focus is on a high professional level in clinical work and around cancer patients. There is a good learning environment, both for the individual doctor and the overall educational environment.

There are good opportunities for research in the department, where there is currently a clinical professorship and PhD programs attached to the plastic surgery section. The section currently has 3 training positions attached, 2 resident positions and 1 in a main training program annually. In addition, the section consists of 4 consultants and a specialist physician.

We are seeking a specialist in plastic surgery with interest in reconstructive and corrective breast surgery as well as skin cancer diseases, who can contribute to the professional development of the department. MDT conferences and joint decision-making are well integrated into daily operations in Vejle and the applicant is expected to actively participate in the multidisciplinary collaboration around the patients.

In addition, a candidate with an interest in teaching and training of surgeons is desired, as participation in supervision and teaching of doctors in introductory and main training programs is expected.

Emphasis is placed on clinical experience and good collaboration skills.

The position is full-time.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the agreement with Danish Regions and YL.
