Would you like to help develop acute child and adolescent psychiatry in the Capital Region of Denmark? A specialist doctor is sought for the Acute Team in B205, Glostrup

We are seeking a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry for the Acute Team at B205. Here you will become part of a highly specialized environment with Denmark's only acute unit for children and adolescents. You will have the opportunity to work with complex clinical problems, close interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of a growing acute service.

Who are we?

B205 handles the acute child and adolescent psychiatric function in the Region of the Capital for children and adolescents under 18 years old.

The unit consists of an inpatient ward and three subacute offerings

Acute Ward

A closed inpatient ward with 10 beds. We primarily receive children and adolescents with increased suicide risk, psychosis, affective disorders, acute crisis states, developmental disorders and severe traumatic experiences. There is an option for parental co-admission.

Competence Center for Suicide Prevention (KFS)

A subacute service for children and adolescents with suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts. Treatment is based on the evidence-based CAMS method.

Team for Self-harm

A specialized service for young people with self-harming behavior. The team supports existing treatment pathways and contributes with teaching and supervision across BUC.

Acute Team

A multidisciplinary team that offers rapid follow-up after contact in the emergency intake. The team handles subacute treatment, psychopathological screening and also has an outreach function.

About the position

You will become a central part of the Acute Team with responsibility for assessment, evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with acute psychiatric difficulties.

We work with a recovery-oriented approach and emphasize the involvement of the child’s or adolescent’s family. Collaboration, trust and high professional quality are core values in our work.

The Acute Team is facing an exciting development. With more resources on the way you will have the opportunity to influence both the team’s professional profile and the further development of the service.

You will primarily be attached to the Acute Team but are also expected to contribute to tasks in the other functions at B205 as needed. An important part of the position is supervision, guidance and bedside teaching of younger doctors.

We collaborate closely with the Psychiatric Emergency Department (PAM) in Glostrup. Specialists from B205 perform the on-call daytime coverage, and you can therefore expect to participate in this function.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours per week with commencement on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter following agreement.

There is currently a voluntary on-call arrangement for specialists across the child and adolescent psychiatric departments in the Region of the Capital. There is an ongoing need for a portion of the center’s specialists to participate in the arrangement.

You will be employed in accordance with the agreement for Subordinate Doctors - 33.06.1

In accordance with legal requirements you must present a clean child certificate when employed at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center. The center will obtain the certificate from the Danish National Police with your consent when we nominate you for employment.

About the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center (BUC)

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center (BUC) is part of Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital and covers the entire Region of the Capital. The center conducts assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with all forms of severe mental disorders that require a multidisciplinary hospital-based approach. The center has two clinical departments, Outpatient Department and Inpatient Department, distributed across several locations in the region, as well as a large research unit.

In addition, the center has a number of support functions, including administration and a quality and improvement unit. In total, we are about 1,000 employees who engage in close multidisciplinary collaboration for about 18,000 children and adolescents aged 0-17 seen annually at the center (2025).
