About the job

Brøndbyvester School seeks an engaged German teacher

Are you passionate about the German language, and do you thrive on creating learning joy, curiosity and good relations with students in primary school? Do you want to make German teaching come alive and be meaningful, so that students gain the courage to use the language and the desire to learn more? Then you might be the person we are looking for at Brøndbyvester School!

We are looking for a skilled and relationship-capable German teacher who wants to make a difference for our students in the upper primary grades. The position is based on teaching German, but we are open to adapting the scope and content of the role according to your competences, interests and wishes. You can therefore be the right candidate for either a part-time or a full-time position.

With us there is room to create your own position. Perhaps you are especially passionate about the German subject and linguistic communication, and perhaps you also have other competences and interests that can be brought into the school’s daily life. We would like to engage in dialogue with you about how we together can create a position that makes sense for both you and our students.

About the position

  • Teaching German in the upper primary grades.
  • Opportunity to influence and develop the teaching with your own ideas and professional interests.
  • Opportunity for a part-time or full-time position depending on your competences and wishes.
  • Opportunity to bring in other relevant competences and help shape the content of the role.
  • An workplace with focus on professional development, strong relationships and good community among students and staff.

Our view of children – all children should have the opportunity to succeed

At Brøndbyvester School we work from a shared view of children

"Children and young people do the best they can with the competences they have. It is the responsibility of adults to involve children and young people in positive communities and learning environments with equal access to exploring, developing and thriving."

That means we meet children and young people with curiosity, respect and positive expectations. We believe that all students have the potential to develop, and that it is our responsibility as adults to create the framework for them to succeed academically, socially and personally.

As a teacher with us, you contribute to creating a safe and motivating learning environment where students feel seen, heard and taken seriously. We know that children are different and have different approaches, challenges and forms of support. Therefore it is important that you can adapt your teaching and make room for both diversity and community.

In German teaching you will have the opportunity to awaken students’ curiosity about language and culture, to create courage to try things out and to show them that making mistakes is part of learning. We want students to experience German as a living language they can use to understand the world around them.

We imagine that you …

  • Are a trained teacher and have experience teaching German in primary school.
  • Are passionate about communication and can make the teaching engaging, varied and meaningful.
  • Are relationship-capable and can create safe frameworks where students dare to participate and develop.
  • Meet students with recognition, clarity and positive expectations.
  • Can adapt teaching to the different prerequisites and needs of the students.
  • Want to collaborate with colleagues on the students’ academic development, well-being and participation in the community.

What can we offer you?

At Brøndbyvester School you will become part of a workplace where professionalism, community and well-being go hand in hand. We prioritise close collaboration between colleagues and management and want to create a framework where employees’ ideas, initiatives and academic interests can be expressed. Brøndbyvester School is a large school spread over two campuses. This position is tied to the Tornehøj department, where we have students from grades 5–9.

Here you will be part of a learning environment where collaboration, professional development and good relationships are important elements of daily life. The most important thing is not that you can do everything from the start, but that you want to make a difference for our students and contribute positively to the community.

We want to create a position where you can bring your strengths into play, develop your academic interests and have influence on your daily life. We believe the best solutions arise in dialogue, and therefore we are curious about what you can contribute and how we together can make your competences flourish.
