About the job

Do you want a versatile everyday life, where fire safety readiness and practical maintenance go hand in hand?

We are strengthening staffing at Karup Air Station and are therefore seeking two new employees for the Establishment and Ground Forces Command.

Do you have a knack for work with your hands, a good technical understanding and a desire to take responsibility? Do you thrive in a varied daily routine where you will both participate in preparedness tasks and ensure that firing ranges and equipment are maintained and ready for use? Then you may be the person we are looking for.

About us

The Establishment and Ground Forces Command is headquartered in Hjørring but has employees at service sites all over the country.

We supply and develop the physical framework for the Defence’s operational units and the other authorities under the Defence Command. Our tasks include, among other things, building maintenance, minor repairs, area care in accordance with operating and care plans, maintenance of firing ranges, manufacture of target materials and coordination of subcontractors in connection with larger and smaller projects.

Many of the tasks are carried out by our 28 establishment partner elements, spread across the largest service sites nationwide. Here, everything from user inquiries and procurement to event support and building maintenance is handled.

You will become part of the Establishment Partner Element Firing and Exercise Areas (EPSKY), where we work together to ensure the best possible framework for Defence activities.

About the position

You will be one of Karup Firing and Exercise Areas’ local representatives and contact person for users. You build an in-depth local knowledge of the establishment, enabling you to provide optimal service for our firing units in Karup Firing and Exercise Areas.

You will become part of a dedicated team where we help each other solve both planned and acute tasks. Together, we must ensure the best possible framework for the Defence’s firing units and support a safe and efficient execution of activities at Karup Air Station.

Your primary tasks will include, among others

  • Fire safety readiness: You will participate in fire safety readiness. This means you must be able to respond to fire and deploy as needed and follow applicable safety procedures
  • Operation and maintenance of firing ranges: You will supervise Karup firing ranges. This includes checking the ranges’ condition and function, minor repairs and ongoing maintenance, so the ranges are safe and ready for use
  • Safety compliance and requirements: You must ensure that firing ranges meet the current requirements of the Firing Range Inspectorate, and help identify and remedy any deficiencies
  • Areal care and building maintenance: You will perform minor tasks related to area care around firing ranges and buildings as well as simple maintenance of buildings and technical installations. You must also ensure that area care is carried out in accordance with the established agreements
  • Material and workshop tasks: You will maintain technical target materials, manufacture target materials in your own workshop and handle the issue and reception of materials
  • Practical and administrative tasks: You will assist with goods reception, inspect deliveries and supervise external suppliers’ work. In addition, various administrative tasks and other practical tasks are part of the daily operations

The position requires that you are flexible and can keep an overview when tasks change or when acute situations arise. You must be prepared for shift work, including evening and weekend work in connection with firing and other activities.

About you

We want you to be educated as a property maintenance technician or have relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings and technical installations.

As a person you are firstly a good colleague who values good cooperation with your colleagues and contributes effectively to the community. The same community that ensures everyone reaches the goal. You have a talent for coordination and are good at communicating clearly with colleagues as well as with subcontractors.

You express yourself well in Danish and find it easy to interact with other people. You are outgoing, have a good mood and good situational awareness.

You work independently and have a strong service mindset. You are always ready to take initiative and find innovative solutions to emerging tasks. You are flexible, as the work can involve changing hours and weekend work.

It is a requirement that you have a category B driver's license, preferably BE (trailer license over 3500 kg) and a forklift certificate.

It is desirable that you have knowledge of construction machinery, but this is not a requirement.
