About the job

Are you eager to contribute to ensuring a clean marine environment and sustainable fisheries for the future, so now is the time to apply!

We in the Environmental Protection Agency's Sea Office have, due to increased tasks with a new regulation as well as work with fisheries policy, been given the opportunity to scale up with a skilled generalist who is passionate about getting the chance to ensure the good marine environment!

If you are a capable social science candidate with experience with (or at least the desire for) project management, preparing cases for the political system and for collaborating with other authorities and universities as well as having political understanding, and if you are driven by contributing your skills to achieve a meaningful goal of a clean sea together with other skilled colleagues, then come and become one of us!

You join an agency that is moving ahead with a transformation into a more action-oriented Environmental Protection Agency, and where both frameworks, tasks and organization are in motion. At the same time you enter a professional area that is central to the regulation of the marine environment, characterized by high legal complexity and strong political attention.

We want

A generalist who both wants project management, an overview of finances and leadership support.

We will especially emphasize that you enjoy handling many tasks that systematically must be driven and secured financially. You do not need to be an economist, but you should not be deterred by larger financial overviews. This is a very outward-facing position with a large collaborative interface to both colleagues in the office, other offices in the Environmental Protection Agency and to the ministry. Here, an overview, systematic approach and good collaboration will be valued.

It is advantageous if you have previously worked in a state or municipal administration. We think you likely have a relevant generalist education such as cand.scient.pol or similar.

We also expect that you

  • Are a skilled communicator, both in writing and speaking, who can translate complex material and difficult processes into manageable administrative procedures.
  • Have experience with or wish to learn about administrative processes in the state, where finance, sector-specific knowledge, law and politics must be considered and presented in short form.
  • Can involve and, via dialogue with your colleagues, include relevant parties in the case processes.
  • Are thorough and systematic, so the task solution is of the highest quality.
  • Have digital competencies and are used to navigating and engaging digital tools.
  • Are both meticulous and proactive.

You must be able to thrive in the interplay between the long-term work with the strategic directions and, from time to time, deliver faster, more focused work processes.

We offer

You will join an already well-functioning team that is good at sparring with each other. We are about 30 colleagues in the office and are organized in teams with 1 office head and 2 functional leaders. Your colleagues are professionally skilled and knowledge sharing is a natural part of the office's daily life. You will work in a busy, professional, social and outward-facing environment with a friendly atmosphere. We emphasize that it is fun and motivating to go to work, and that we are busy with the right things. Additionally, we value a nice chat over lunch, which can also include non-professional topics.

Salaries and terms of employment

Salaries and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academics’ Agreement).

The employment area is the Ministry of the Environment with associated institutions.

The workplace will be Lerchesgade 35, 5000 Odense C.

Start date is as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027.
