About the job

EKJ now seeks engineering interns for the Construction business area with start in January/February 2027.

Do you want an internship filled with educational experiences, and would you like to try your hand at working as a consulting engineer within the field of structural engineering? Then now is the time to apply.

As an intern in EKJ Consulting Engineers' Construction business area (head office in Østerbro, Copenhagen) you will be part of our project teams. You will have the opportunity to test your skills on real projects and thus gain a good understanding of what it means to work as a consulting engineer. You will be part of the fixed teams and thus be a natural part of the project team – whether on the construction site, in the office or at the project office.

You start with us in January/February 2027.

At EKJ you will experience a high professional level and as part of your internship you will have the opportunity to become familiar with all phases of the construction process, including design, execution, supervision and follow-up.

TAILORED PROGRAM

You will take an active role in the projects, where your contribution contributes to the completion of our projects. At EKJ you will not be left to yourself, as you will work with the technical lead for the projects and agree on your tasks. We tailor your internship with us to match your wishes and ambitions and our needs.

ABOUT YOU

You are in training to become, for example, a building engineer (construction engineer).

  • You are curious and able to work independently,
  • You place high value on good collaboration with colleagues and other partners.
  • You are conscientious, flexible and able to say yes and no when appropriate.
  • You take responsibility for your own tasks and want to be part of the team.
  • You have knowledge of IT tools such as the Office suite and Revit.

WE OFFER

  • Many varied tasks and a program that is tailored in collaboration with you.
  • An exciting and dynamic workplace.
  • An interdisciplinary environment where you become part of the team.
  • Opportunity for sparring and guidance during thesis writing.
  • Social events, massage program and a good canteen.

WHO IS EKJ?

At EKJ we turn the client's visions into reality. As the professionals we are, we are motivated by finding solutions to difficult and complex challenges, and we are passionate about making a difference in our clients' projects. Since 1961 we have advised on the construction of everything from museums and hotels to hospitals, housing developments and laboratories. We have many years of experience in preserving, renovating and transforming buildings rather than simply tearing them down. We believe this is the first step toward more sustainability in construction.

The EKJ group’s just over 300 employees are a diverse bunch with many different skills and approaches, which together can solve most tasks. And we are proud that we can both attract new engineering talents in their 20s and retain very experienced staff in their 70s.

You meet us more often with a hard hat under your arm and 3D visualization in your back pocket than in a buttoned-up consulting suit. Likewise, our tone is relaxed and informal, and even though we have an organizational chart with a director at the top and a number of internal leaders, EKJ is in practice characterized by a flat structure where authority follows the employee who has to solve the task.
