Clinical Immunology Department's organization and profile

We are a regional department with about 150 employees. We serve all the region's hospitals with departments at the hospitals in Slagelse, Holbæk, Nykøbing Falster, Køge and Roskilde. At these departments donor phlebotomy and patient-adjacent analyses are carried out. Donor phlebotomy is also performed in our mobile unit. In our department at Næstved Hospital, in addition to donor phlebotomy, all component production and the production of FMT capsules are performed.

It is also at Næstved Hospital that we have consolidated the laboratory functions for infectious marker testing and immunological diagnostics. We harvest stem cells in Roskilde. These are processed in our stem cell laboratory and stored in Næstved.

The department is accredited by DANAK under DS/ISO 15189 and is further inspected by national competent authorities in relation to the Blood-, Tissue- and Medicines Act.

We are an education-active department with bioanalyst and PhD students. Furthermore the department has a considerable amount of research activity, primarily within the Danish Blood Donor Study, psoriasis, arthritis, biomarkers for early cancer and stem cells.
