About the job

Become part of the future of acute healthcare

Do you want to work independently with acute and complex patient pathways – and at the same time help shape a completely new organization, where the hospital's competencies are brought even closer to the citizen?

As a result of the health reform, the Emergency Department at North Zealand Hospital will take over the municipal acute nursing care in North Zealand as of January 1, 2027. Therefore we are seeking engaged and professionally strong nurses for our new mobile emergency nursing service.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a major development, where together we shall create a strong, coherent and citizen-centered acute response across eight North Zealand municipalities.

We are currently primarily seeking nurses for our locations in Frederikssund .

A day-to-day life close to the citizen

As a nurse in the mobile emergency nursing service you work independently and with high professional competence in the citizens' own homes and at health and care facilities. You work closely with, among others, general practitioners, hospital specialties, home care and nursing, emergency services and other relevant partners.

The mobile emergency nursing service is an acute function , and this should be reflected in both our professionalism and way of working. We must be able to assess, prioritize and act on acute onset illness and deterioration in known disease – even when the task is carried out outside the hospital campus.

The goal is not that everyone should stay in their own home. The goal is that the citizen receives the right treatment in the right place. Sometimes that means treatment at home, other times rapid contact with a doctor, emergency services or hospital.

The work requires you to stand on your own feet, make qualified clinical assessments and act on them – while knowing when to involve and consult with others.

You will become part of a strong professional community where sparring, development and high quality are a natural part of everyday life.

Your tasks will include

  • Acute nursing assessment and treatment of citizens in their own homes
  • Observation, monitoring and follow-up of acute and complex patient pathways
  • IV therapy, sampling and other advanced nursing tasks
  • Clinical decision-making and leadership in independent patient pathways
  • Prevention of unnecessary hospital admissions and support of treatment closer to the citizen
  • Close coordination with hospital, municipal partners and general practice
  • Advising and guiding patients, relatives and partners

Four locations – one common professional environment

The mobile emergency nursing service is organized at four geographic locations distributed in North Zealand. We do this to ensure proximity to the citizens and to create strong local collaboration relationships. Although you will as a rule have a primary base at one location, you will be part of one integrated mobile emergency nursing service with shared professional standards, competence development and collegial community across North Zealand.

It is also expected that the individual teams can cover broadly across the hospital's catchment area. We are still in the process of building the function. This means that not everything is predefined – and that you will have a real opportunity to participate in developing workflows, collaboration formats and the professional direction.

We are looking for you who

  • Are a licensed nurse
  • Have solid clinical experience – preferably from the acute care area, home nursing, medical and surgical specialties or a good blend of it all.
  • Thrive with independent decisions and complex clinical assessments
  • Can exercise clinical leadership and maintain an overview in complex situations
  • Have strong collaboration skills and can build good relationships across professions and sectors
  • See opportunities in changes and want to help build something new
  • Are curious about your own and others' professional skills and want to continue developing
  • Have a driver's license for a passenger car

You do not need to know everything from day one. The most important is that you have a solid nursing professional foundation, can work independently and are eager to develop yourself together with us.

Why choose us

You will become part of the Emergency Department at North Zealand Hospital – one of the country’s largest emergency departments with high professionalism, strong multidisciplinary collaboration and a culture shaped by development, innovation and community.

The Emergency Department consists of the Emergency Reception in Hillerød, the Emergency Clinic in Frederikssund and the Emergency Clinic in the Health House in Helsingør and is open around the clock every day of the year. The department handles about 137,000 patient pathways annually and typically treats 150-170 acute patients per day.

With the mobile emergency nursing service we now expand the Emergency Department's scope and create new opportunities to bring acute nursing assessment and treatment closer to the citizen.

We offer

  • A unique opportunity to help build and shape the future mobile emergency nursing
  • A high degree of independence and clinical responsibility
  • Thorough introduction and targeted competence development
  • A strong multidisciplinary and nursing professional environment
  • Ongoing professional sparring and collegial support
  • Focus on well-being and a good working environment
  • Opportunity to actively contribute to the development of new workflows and patient pathways across sectors

Employment

The mobile emergency nursing service is a 24/7 acute function , and the work will therefore be organized with rotating shifts year-round.

The positions are offered as a 37-hour week by default, but other hours can be agreed and negotiated based on individual preferences and the function's needs.

The positions are desired to be filled by agreement.

Salary and terms follow the applicable collective agreement for non-management staff within the Health Union’s area.
