Tårnby Parish seeks an organist with a passion for music and people.

We are a lively workplace and one of the oldest churches in Greater Copenhagen. Tårnby Church is an active church with many liturgical services and events. Therefore we are seeking a part-time colleague for our organist. We are looking for a skilled and experienced church musician with an intuitive understanding of the rhythm of the mass, and who can underpin its progression with creative interpretation of both classical and modern music.

Your tasks will include

· Playing at services and religious ceremonies, contributing with piano playing at various events – for example, song evenings in the parish house.

· Playing at services and music events at nursing homes and Amager Psychiatric Center

· Leading and administering the churchs singers (SATB)

We are looking for someone who

· Has a relevant educational background and professionally masters both organ, piano and choir conducting

· Works independently and at the same time thrives in collaboration

· Encounters the congregation, colleagues and volunteers with openness and respect

· Can plan and prioritise in a daily life with both fixed and changing tasks

· Has understanding that the position requires good collaboration skills and flexibility regarding changing working hours

· Can remain calm, have an overview and composure also in situations when there are many balls in the air

· Is quality-conscious and professionally curious

Employment takes place at Tårnby Parish Council located at Englandsvej 330, 2770 Kastrup

Hiring of an organist with a degree as "Church musician with Organ and Choir direction" or an organist with a PO degree is covered by the Agreement between the Ministry of Urban, Rural and Church Affairs and CO10 – Central Organisation of 2010.

Organists with a church music bachelor- or master degree are covered by the protocol to the academic agreement on regular employment of DOKS organists and fixed teachers at church music schools concluded between Academics and the Ministry of Urban, Rural and Church Affairs.

Current civil servant organists have the right to keep their civil servant status when employed with direct transition. In that case a classification of the position must take place.

The annual salary for applicants with a church music candidate degree (DOKS) is agreed in accordance with the new salary AC scale. This means a gross salary between DKK 356,300.70 – 434,159.97 per year (current prices).

There is a service obligation attached to the position. The on-call allowance amounts to annually between DKK 45,842.92 – 71,200.18 (current prices). Placement and on-call allowance are given according to seniority. In addition, qualification and function allowances may be granted after local agreement.

The annual salary for applicants with church musician training in organ and choir direction (formerly PO-organists) is agreed in accordance with the agreed basic salary grade system. Basic grade 1 amounts to DKK 343,808.19 per year (current prices) and basic grade 2 amounts to DKK 361,226.00 per year (current prices). Placement occurs according to seniority.

There is a on-call obligation for the position. The on-call allowance amounts annually to DKK 29,104.64 (current prices) for service at 1 church / DKK 37,223.95 (current prices) for service at 2-3 churches / DKK 44,094.15 (current prices) for service at 4-6 churches / DKK 50,839.43 (current prices) for service at 7 or more churches (choose the relevant one).

Salaries and on-call allowances are prorated in accordance with the employment fraction of the position.
