Teacher for Broager School's special classes

Positive, affirming and engaged teacher sought for Broager School's special classes

Do you believe that children and parents do their best? Are you calm, inclusive and flexible – and do you thrive on systematically working with students' academic, social and personal development? Do you have an eye for identifying and strengthening each pupil's resources?

Then you might be the one we are looking for.

The position is 37 hours with start on January 1, 2027.

We are looking for a teacher who

  • is passionate about creating exciting, varied and educational teaching
  • has a major in Danish and preferably Mathematics – but for the right profile all subject areas are of interest.
  • is passionate about both teaching and the students' well-being
  • can motivate, engage and create joy in learning
  • works independently, but also thrives in a close, committed team collaboration
  • can take clear and confident leadership – both in the classroom and in the team
  • has experience with the age group 1st–6th grade

About the special classes division – and about the children you meet

This year the special classes division has 41 students. They are different, unique and fantastic in their own ways. They can be impulsive, sensitive, full of ideas, full of restlessness inside – or quiet, but with a sea of feelings beneath the surface.

What they share is that they need structure , calm , security , and adults who meet them with patience and curiosity.

We work with Low Arousal , because we know that relationships always come before solutions, and that children learn best when they are met with calm – even when their world is anything but calm.

Your upcoming student group ranges from early years to middle school, and every day you will have the opportunity to make a difference that can be felt.

You will join a strong special classes team consisting of educational staff, teachers and teaching assistants.

Together you will handle

  • subject-specific teaching
  • tasks of a social-pedagogical nature
  • a close and trusting collaboration with parents

You should be comfortable with a plan A sometimes turning into plan B – and keeping calm, overview and direction.

There is ongoing sparring , competence development and a culture where we learn from each other.

We offer

  • a dynamic and professional environment with a focus on collaboration and development
  • a strong collegial community where we take care of each other
  • capable and committed colleagues across disciplines
  • an workplace with high ceilings, humor and an informal tone
  • good physical facilities – scenic location by Flensburg Fjord
  • a mentorship program for new employees

  • ensures that new colleagues quickly become part of the community
