Are you ready for an exciting challenge as a teacher at a school in development? We are seeking a competent and engaged teacher for our special school Brøndagerskolen in Albertslund Municipality. The position is a full-time role with start on 1 November 2026.

About Brøndagerskolen

Brøndagerskolen is a special school for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) under the Danish Public School Act § 20 subparagraph 2. The student group spans a broad range in their developmental stages, and the school provides extensive special education. The concept of teaching is interpreted broadly from a life-skill perspective, and we have a strong interdisciplinary collaboration between pedagogues, teachers and assistants.

Our focus is on the academic, social and personal development, and the school has students from 0th to 10th grade. Brøndagerskolen is a holistic offering and therefore works with both teaching and leisure activities.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have experience with or a strong interest in the special needs field. You work purposefully to build relationships with students, colleagues and parents. You have an eye for each student's resources and potential just as your approach bears the mark of structure, systematic thinking and overview.

Experience with the target group is an advantage, but we also support you in developing within ASD.

The school is in continuous development and applicants must be able to think creatively and renew themselves both individually and in a team. We are seeking a teacher who is ambitious on behalf of the children with an interest in children at early developmental stages. The ability to respond to the children's cues and maintain balance, even in challenging situations, is important.

The work at Brøndagerskolen can be emotionally demanding and involves close work with students with extensive needs for structure, predictability and regulation. It requires you to be able to maintain calm, overview and professional reflection in high-intensity situations.

You must be able to find meaning and engagement in activities that weave together throughout the day. The work is characterized by pedagogues and teachers, assisted by pedagogical assistants, working closely around each child's well-being, development and learning.

The position includes both teaching and pedagogical work directly with the students, participation in team work as well as collaboration with parents and cross-disciplinary partners. Preparation, evaluation, documentation and reflection, both individually and collegially, are a natural part of the task and most of the preparation time is therefore spent at the school.

Brøndagerskolen has mentors who support the pedagogical staff in their daily work with the students' goals and development. The mentor team is broadly composed of pedagogical- and audiological pedagogical mentors, physiotherapists, psychologists etc. In addition, we have subject leaders in the subjects of mathematics, English, IT.

Practical information

We conduct ongoing recruitment interviews. They primarily take place on Mondays 15:00-16:00. However final round interviews on Monday 26.10. at 11:30-13:30.

Salary placement is negotiated between the municipality and the negotiating organization.
